Constant "starting to charge" - robot vacuum

I haven’t changed my robot vacuum’s location nor anything else recently. However, over the past month, the vacuum likes to keep annoucing “starting to charge.” I have pulled it off of the charger and manually pushed it back on. And that works sometimes. I am just curious why this is suddenly doing this now? Any fixes/tricks?

Charge is at 100% right now, but I just heard it announce in the other room. So, I gather from that, the charge connection is good.

Use some alcohol wipes to clean the charging contacts on the charger and the vacuum. They can get dusty and dirty just sitting there and don’t make great contact any more, which is why it announces every time it experiences a loss in charge current.

Yep, this sounds like the most likely issue. Cleaning any built up dust or other nasty from the contacts should help it maintain a good connection.

I didn’t consider that, since the contacts appear to be so huge. I suppose their overall contact is limited due to the shape though. Both the charger and the vacuum’s contacts have been extra cleaned. Will report back with findings.

Just remembered to update because it has been so quiet in the house. I hate (love?) how easy the fix was. Cleaned the robot side connectors, and the ground charger connectors, good to go.
