Yes, when I upgraded from V2 to V3 the weaker V3 WiFi required the mesh.
Been good with zero issues on any of my Reolink and Wyze cams.
Note* the Orbi Mesh network is set to be WAP only, the cellular enterprise router is the router and not the Orbi.
They’re supposedly coming out with more for various systems, however, I hate the fact that you really don’t have much control over the router features like ISP provided routers allow you to control, rather, they make you pay for “HomeShield” service for features that are standard on your typical FIOS Arris NVG468MQ.

After a decade old router i just installed a tplink Deco XE75 Pro ($180 usd) and one unit is blanketing 2400ft2 including 12 V3s. The difference is dramatic. Cameras are picked up in a second or two.
I doubt i need more then another unit to blanket a much larger 3 level that I’m building.
I have observed that many camera issues that people complain about are really caused by network issues. But not all, some are due to Wyze bugs.

I thoight that the 6 i had were the problem connecting and then when i added far more, every crawled to a standstill. Then when i added the new router, nothing was/is a problem.

It sure has been a while. Schedule change leaves me no time for anything anymore. I do try to pop in and see what’s new when I can and give some input.
I have 4 of those Deco’s but using them as access points. Overkill? Yes, but there’s a reason for my madness, I place them against an outer wall, with a hardlined backhaul to a tp-link switch. This causes the neighbor’s ISP provided routers, to switch to different channels away from mine when they periodically check for interference and autoswitch their channels. I have a lot of IoT devices and cams so that’s another reason.
