Cheap robot vac/mop

Saw a Xiaomi ‘smart’ ‘wireless’ robot vacuum/mop on AliExpress for about $30.00 so I ordered one. Currently in a dispute with AliExpress because it is a P.O.S. I could get cleaner floors by attaching a Swiffer pad to my dog. There is nothing ‘smart’ about this vacuum. As for being ‘wireless’ , my wallet and shoes are also ‘wireless’. This vacuum isn’t smart, it is stoopid.

It is about 2/3 the size and 1/10 the weight of the Wyze robot vac, and uses a simple drive mechanism. When the vac hits sonething, it reverses and turns. The cleaning is totally random, and as you can see, it got hung up on a simple transition from the bathroom to the hallway.

I guess the old adage “you get what you pay for” is true.

I’m sorry you are having hard time with your purchase

My 2017 Roomba 870 is still going strong and is working right now. I got what I paid for but I paid a lot. :heavy_dollar_sign: :heavy_dollar_sign:

The ones that ‘scoot’ seem bred for it! (Zip ties!)

After a few emails with AliExpress, they refunded my purchase price. I gave it to Goodwill. Should have put a note with it that is is junk. Someone will buy it and think they really have something.

Reminds me when I was about 10. The cereal I ate had an offer where you sent in 4 million box tops or whatever and they sent you an electronic hockey game.

I remember the excitement when it arrived, almost like Ralphie with the decoder pin. The letdown was almost as bad. The game was nothing more than a piece of thin metal with a vibrating motor underneath. The hockey players had magnets on the bottom. The vibrating motor made the players go all over, with no control. I tossed it in the trash after about a minute.
