Caught a shoplifter!

I’m a longtime Wyze user, well before they were mainstream and the v1`camera was just a beta product. I recently opened a retail store and installed a few Wyze OG’s that I had laying around. Two weeks ago, after noticing a few high priced items go missing, I was able to find the shoplifter on the sdcard on my Wyzes. I supplied the videos to law enforcement and had great feedback on the video. Not only was I able to get my stolen items back and get financial restitution, but the detective said he was impressed with the video quality. He had never heard of Wyze, but said he would recommend them for other shops needing surveillance.

Wyze has definitely transformed over the years and they aren’t the mom and pop shop of a few years ago. However, I’m continually pleased at the quality and value I continue to get out of these little cameras. While everybody’s milage may vary, these cameras came through in a big way for our local store.

Thank you Wyze for creating an affordable, easy-to-use product that creates peace of mind and safety!

Thanks all. Up until now, my Wyze’s have always been used for keeping an eye on the house, dogs, fish tank, yard, etc. This was the first time I actually got something truly tangible out of it, so I was excited to share with the community.

Like most of us, I probably spent more time than I should have adjusting placement, making minute adjustments, hiding power, etc.

As a complete side note - the previous tenant had a cat5 based camera system that they took with them, but left the wiring in the wall. I was able to use POE power injectors in the back room with POE/micro-usb breakouts at the camera, eliminating the need for power plugs/extensions, etc. It’s helped a lot with keeping a clean solution.

Can we add @WyzeMatt to the chain? This kind of testimony should sell Wyze subscriptions.

I considered that, but based on @andrewrkeller’s description of finding the relevant footage on the microSD card I didn’t get the impression that a subscription was involved. You just @‍mentioned him yourself, though, so…. :+1:
