Cams not recording activity

Can anyone tell me why my solar pan cameras are only getting video from 8am to 6pm there’s a lot of [Mod Edit] going on behind my building at night and it’s not being recorded almost like someone is controlling my cameras

The obvious guess would be that if it goes offline when it starts to get dark, that you’re not getting enough sun to charge the battery and it runs out of power. Either that or there is an issue where the battery is not able to charge at all. What is the battery percentage - have you tried charging it manually?

Battery’s show to be full. I just changed the record settings from smart to all maby that will do it. It was recording then I caught suspicious activity at 253am and reported it and all of the sudden it’s not recording anything after dark

Yeah, keep in mind “smart” needs enough light and clarity to be able to identify the object. So at night often the distance it can detect at is significantly reduced. But you can toy with the settings and positioning and see if you can get the smart detections working better in low light.

You can try with “night mode” (black and white IR) enabled and disabled and see which works better. If it is trying to stay in “color night vision” with IR disabled, it may not be seeing enough detail to identify objects.

What can you share about your Solar Cam Pan’s settings, mounting location/placement, and the physical environment that it’s monitoring, and what kind of results are you getting from the Cam so far? For this last bit, I’m curious to know if you’re using a subscription or not, if the Cam is generating/recording events during the daytime as expected, if you’re recording to microSD, etc.

For the first part of the question, it’s important to note that Solar Cam Pan tries to conserve battery by not having its image sensor active all the time. It uses its PIR sensor to essentially “wake” the Cam to record when motion is detected within its selected range and sensitivity settings, and that is heavily dependent upon placement of the Cam in relation to the movement of anticipated targets in the monitored area. If you have the Cam placed in a position where the targets that you hope to capture in recordings move across the field of view (i.e., left-to-right or right-to-left as you watch the picture), then you should see many more detected events than if the targets are moving directly toward or away from the Cam. Because of that, a screenshot of the Cam’s view might also be a helpful part of troubleshooting your issue.
