CamPlus Event Detection stopped working since Saturday

I have been using CamPlus since November 2021. Except for one week of general AWS outage earlier this year, it has been working. However, since last Saturday, CamPlus stopped tagging vehicle, person… or any AI event. I therefore get no notification on my app since I select “notify on Cam Plus event only”. I tried toggling settings on the app and power cycling the camera to no avail. I believe this is an issue on the server side.
Anyone having this problem recently? Suggestion on what to do? Thanks!

I have 12 cams on CamPlus and have not had a loss of any AI event recording or notifications. I have 10 V3 although all are still on

Wyze FW updates are notorious for changing settings but not showing that change in the app. My only suggestion would be to turn all your event recording and notification settings off, log out of the app, log back in and verify all are still off, turn all the settings back on, log out and log back in verifying again.

I have the same problem since the last update went out for the V3 cam No Notification on V3 only. All other cam V2s work fine including one with RTMP that haven’t been updated in about 4 years. What going on People?

Yea like @SlabSlayer said, FW updates often screw up random settings. Please check in your cameras notification, detection, and event recording settings if they all look right, and if so you may wanna try to disable and reenable each one. If that doesn’t work, try unplugging and plugging back in 30 seconds later, and then if that still doesn’t work delete the cam from the app and set it back up.

Ensure your detection zone is where you want it and not blocking the person your trying to detect.

Look I use 2 phone for wyze cams. and it doing the same thing on both. don’t tell it not AI fault…

Having the same issue since 4/22/22. Everything was fine on 4/21/22. Opened a case today with support and as expected it was, check all your setting and then recommended a factory reset. Nothing worked.

I started reading another thread in the forum about this issue that dated back to January. One person recommended turning off the detection zone. I just did that, and now I get AI notifications. Thank fully I only want AI (person / vehicle) events and not all motion or else I’d be getting alerts for my flag and trees.

I have two cam v3 and one v2. Use both Android and iOS for managing the cameras and receiving notifications. Note that only the one v3 with a CamPlus license is having this issue. The other v3 and v2 that only have CamPlus Lite with person detection set are working fine even with detection zones set.

I’ve emailed support with this finding and maybe someone will actually be able to look into it and get it resolved.


My cams are also suddenly not notifying as of the last few days. They seem to record motion but fail to notify. So you are not alone.

There are currently 2 issues previously reported on the V3:

  1. Many have found a loss in AI detected Event Recordings when the Detection Zone is set for a high % of the field of view

  2. If Notifications for ALL Motion are OFF, and AI Notifications are ON, any event recording taking longer than 6 seconds on the AI server to tag as AI will not receive any notifications.

I am having the same issue and it’s making me mad that it isn’t fixed yet. I pay for this service and have a huge problem where I live so I NEED to know when anyone is in view of my cameras.

When is this going to be fixed??


I tried everything that folks suggested.
Sharing what works for me at this time.

  1. Event detection works when zone detection is off AND motion recording is on.
  2. Event detection works when zone detection is on AND the zone is not too small AND motion recording is on.
    Any deviation from these 2 scenarios, event detection fails.

What isthe point of paying for a subscription. Im paying to get notifications of persons who enter my cameras xone not all motions fix the issue i getting tired of motion notification. Motion notification can mean anything this is total BS person notification not working wyze be somewhat wyze and fix your app.


Yea I have 4 V2s. A lot of us had CamPlus detection problems for a few months around the new year and it seemed to get fixed about 2 months ago. But I noticed since the weekend that person and vehicle detection once again is very very bad. Probably 15% accurate, compared to 95+% in the past for me.

I tried to disable and re-enable detection but it seems to only work for a short time. Pretty disappointed they can’t seem to fix this issue once and for all…they used to be so good.


Im having the same issue but only on one v3 with cam plus. All others with cam plus or cam lite have functioning AI notification . Has been happening last couple weeks. All settings are as they were originally for AI notifications only. Have half frame detection zone enabled. It will record the motion but not be flagged as person or vehicle at all. It used to work well and my other cams are picking up persons most of the time. Running android beta app and latest

Mine as well (CamV3) stopped detecting persons since Apr-22-2022. Has always been working fine until that day. I called several times support lines, wrote several emails where I had to re-explained everything.

I noticed that if we turn off the detection zone, AI detections resume. Looks like there’s a regression related to the zone detection feature, that has been inserted in the algorithm on Apr-21 during the night (eastern north america zone)

Stopped working for me as well kind of annoying since their products seem terribly buggy lately. Paying for cam plus and it doesn’t even work. I’ve tried disabling it and reenabling it multiple times. Don’t see why these products have so many minor issues.

It’s here! Fix it Friday is open for all users to voice critical problems directly to Wyze.

The amount of time and effort I spend trying to"fix" something in the app to get these cameras to do what they’re supposed to do is severely frustrating… Am I expecting too much out of a security system to be able to be notified of an event happening in view of a camera in a timely fashion?? And to not have to continually format micro SD cards, reset cameras, delete cameras and reinstall, or log in and out of the app?? Because in the last month and a half that is basically what I have spent my spare time doing.
