Cam Mounting options

Please add rotating options to be able to mount cameras in 90, 180, 270 degrees instead of just upright and 180 degrees.

180 is already supported.

90 and 270 can’t be done since the image sensor is a rectangle not a square (unless you want to view things sideways, which you can already do).

Here is an example of me needing a 90 or 270 degree angle but used a piece of sheet metal for my mount. Even if you don’t have a sheet metal brake, you could use a vice and tin snips to work with a small piece of sheet metal.

Welcome to the Forum, @bschoemann!

If you’re suggesting rotation options for the image when mounting Cams in various ways, then there’s an existing Wishlist request for that:

As with any Wishlist topic, you can visit that one to click or tap the Vote button above the initial post and share your ideas and use cases in the comments to show your support for the product and feature request/suggestions that are important to you.

I made the L-bracket pictured above, but you can buy something similar in stores.

Everyone complains about the OG mount but it is my favorite of them all. It could be mounted directly to that wall with the cam turned 90 degrees from it (resulting in either upright or 180 degree upside down image).

When I replaced one OG with a v4 I found the v3/v4 mount much less flexible.

I have some V3 and V4 cams mounted on third party swivel mounts I got on Amazon. I think WYZE has their own version, it just screws into the bottom of the cam and they work great for the cams on the side of my house.

Those are actually very similar to the OG mounts, OGs are a bit lower profile.

The OG uses a smaller screw though so needs an adapter for most after market mounts, but those are on amazon too. I almost put my v4 onto the OG mount when I swapped it out (via an adapter) but the adapter would have made it look a bit weird.

In order to get the v4 looking at the angle I wanted it to and have the cam be straight, I had to angle the mount on the siding a bit crooked.

The mounts I have are very adjustable. The cams are mounted right side up and the mounts sticking straight out from the sides of the house. I just turned the cams and adjusted the mount rotation to what I wanted, worked well for my use.

I think that depends on which version you have and is no longer the case with the 2025 release.

Updated to a 1/4’'-20 standard mount thread.

I haven’t ever seen if they’ve updated the Stack Kit to account for that change (I don’t think they have). I think that’s an issue only if someone wants to mount a newer Cam OG on top, as the guidance I’ve seen advises using a newer Cam OG on the bottom when stacking it with an older Cam OG or Cam OG Telephoto.

I don’t want to take this too far off topic, though, as @bschoemann’s original post and tags seemed to be about various Cam Pan models, so I’m wondering if any more detail about potential use cases or other thoughts is forthcoming.

Yeah I much prefer that style (and the OG style) to the v3/v4.
