What is the cable type? USB A 2.0 male to USB 2.0 micro B?
and, can we use any cable of this type? (accidentally ripped the head off the B end)

Since it’s only carrying power, it doesn’t really matter. USB-A to USB-micro is what you need. However, if you are thinking of using a longer cable, make sure it has sufficient wire gauge for the power wires so that you don’t lose too much voltage.
