I live in a dark sky town. See darksky.org I can’t have three lights on my patio ALL NIGHT! After working perfectly for a long time, shortly after the last firmware update the bulbs turn on at night and stay on all night. If I turn them off on the the app and turn them back on, they light up again. I’ve called Wyze four times and I am walked through various machinations, told to let them know if their fix worked and it hasn’t!
What specific steps have you tried so far, and how do you have Motion and Ambient Light set in Bulb Settings?
To provide some context of what I’m asking about, I updated to Bulb Cam firmware 21.1.5.1061 a couple of days ago and noticed after midnight last night that the light for the Bulb Cam on my deck was on. It shouldn’t have been, because I have these settings:
- Ambient Light On
- Preset Mode Always ON
- Brightness Level ~10% (I think; they changed the slider at some point)
- Schedule 15m after Sunset–12:00 a.m.
- Motion-activated light On
- Smart Detections for Person and Vehicle
- Schedule 15m after Sunset–15m before Sunrise
- Brightness Level 20
Thinking this was a glitch with the Ambient Light setting following the firmware update, I toggled Ambient Light off and back on. My Bulb Cam’s light did not turn on when I did that, so
that this solved the problem, but I’ll probably know more tonight.
Sharing more detail about your experience (how your settings are currently configured, what troubleshooting you’ve already attempted) might be helpful.
I have Wyze engineers working on this issue now. These bulb cams worked fine for a long time and after the last firmware update they became completely screwed.
Apparently that solved my problem, as if the Ambient Light state needed a reset after that last firmware update. I just reviewed microSD video from last night, and the light turned off at midnight as expected.
You didn’t mention what settings you’re using, but I hope you can get results from the engineers and Support.
I have HAD it with Wyze!
I have six Wyze cameras. Three are bulb cams and I loved them until the last firmware update, Now the lights turn on at night AND STAY ON ALL NIGHT! I live in a dark sky town darksky.org I can’t have this! I’ve called Whyte five times and every time they pass the work on to me. Do this to each of you cameras and send us screen shots of this area of each of you cameras. Oh! THAT didn’t work then try THIS and send us screen shots again. Oh! That didn’t work either? I’m done! Send me three new cameras that work and prepaid mailers and I’ll send you these back! I don’t work for you.

I have three bulb cams . Since the last firmware update all three stay lit all night and one blinks on and off. I’ve tried repeatedly to get tech support to help me, None could. I asked to have these three units swapped out for new ones that work. After promising to swap them out, I’m being ignored. It’s really pissing me off.
