Battery cam pro connect to solar panel

When I bought the battery cams the website clearly states compatible with Wyze solar panel. Went to hook it up and connections don’t match. Support tells me I need a USB C adapter. The camera is obviously NOT USBC. What do I need to hook the solar panel to the camera? The black cable in the pic is the charger for the camera, the white is a USB C.

You have that backwards. The black one is a USB-C and the white one is a micro-USB.
I however have no idea on what connectors the battery cameras or solar panels have - don’t have any.

you need the USBC Adapter

Wyze has it out of stock:

But you can virtually get any adapter to convert the USB-C to a Micro-USB

It is NOT usb c. Look at the picture.

Thank you! There’s my problem. I don’t know what I’m talking about. Thank you!

As @spamoni mentioned, you can order a USB-C to Micro USB cable from amazon and any number of other places. There are adapters too but that is just one more place for water etc to get in, so better to just get a cable with two male ends. Micro USB on one end, USB-C on the other.

I’m not sure if the right angle is important for either the camera or the solar panel, but there are both straight and right angle cables available (right angle is a bit less common but they’re out there).

If you end up going the adapter route I’d cover the junction with some electrical tape, maybe even a bit of dielectric grease where the rubber parts meet (don’t get it into the metal plug itself).

As a user myself, I’m glad we switched to USB-C but this whole solar panel adapter thing with BCP is HELLA confusing and I dislike it.

It is one of those transition things, solar panel is older and BCP I believe is the first wyze cam with USB-C? Heck I still have some old stuff that uses mini-USB and have a few of those cables around just in case. I went through so many blackberries in my life I have plenty of charging/data cables from them (and still miss the physical keyboard).

I’m assuming it was just a matter of starting to standardize on the latest plug, I doubt the BCP needs more power than standard USB can supply.

I know there is another thread where someone got a BCP and solar panel kit and it didn’t include the adapter cable, but I’m guessing that’s been fixed. I think with the outdoor plug kit it says that if using it with a Pan cam you need the 90 degree adapter, maybe the solar panel needs a disclaimer for the BCP.
