can you make the bulbs change colors and act as party lights without needing the wyze led light strip (the pro version always seems to be out of stock). the tp link color bulbs have this feature without needing led strips.

Your mention of…
…makes me think of the “Music Mode” that can be enabled when Bulb Color is grouped with Light Strip or Light Strip Pro, and I believe that feature relies upon the microphone that is built into the light strip controllers. Without built-in microphones, I don’t know how Bulb Color would be able to have a feature like this on its own, and I imagine that would require an actual hardware change.
