>> It will be good to have the option to disable siren for wyze cam (v4)
I am not saying REMOVE the siren feature – just make an option to DISABLE it like Wyze did for the spotlight feature
WHY?:
my reason are ACCIDENTAL TOUCHES setting off the siren
let’s say
you have PETS or BABIES you don’t want to startle
you have cams monitoring FARM ANIMALS you don’t want to stampede or stress
you enjoy PEACE and QUIET
or like me: you have a DOWN’S SYNDROME child who could be seriously affected
all without fear a family member will accidentally touch the siren
some people don’t see too good, especially older people
this siren behavior would be a reason to return the item and the only issue I have as a new Wyze customer
it’s great if you like the siren active – I’m just saying give your customers an option to disable it
> this is not baby camera but monitoring camera! vvyzetokupa
Amazon does in FACT advertise the Wyze cam v4 as a “PET/BABY MONITOR” – as do some youtube reviewers
further:
wyze-com Search for “Baby Monitoring” hits Cam v3, Cam v4, Baby Monitoring Bundle, and Pet Monitoring Starter Kit
the feature requests I read on this thread (including my own) are mostly just asking for a way to disable the Siren so it cannot triggered in Live View by a misguided touch
Sorry, but (excuse that) I think this is a reasonable (and logical) request – keep the current default behavior – just provide an option to turn off the icon
wyze still has the spotlight feature active even though their app suggests Spotlight Control> Manual and Schedule (enter time period) disables it (or i havent figured it out)
spotlight remains an active option “light switch on/off” in Live View in an ANT SIZED icon in a transparent menu bar at the bottom of the liveview frame
+++++
THE REASON these feature wishes seem so ineffective for users are we are not talking to the right people – or at least it feels that way – most people dont bother coming to a forum and spending their time suggesting a change (or filing a bug report)
ive worked on the back side of companies like this and its amazing how unteck and uninvolved some employees are – to actually get the software engineers to alter the interface on this level – they probably have to hire the engineers back to work on it and its very expensive – probable not done inhouse by employees – i could be wrong – but disabling the siren option seems like an easy fix for a programmer – its just not how someone chose to do it
