Yea, but normally they will look at the log to see if it is actually hitting the Vacuum and something is causing it not to respond.
I have questioned this and will let you know what I hear
@caveboychris@finaldestiny731 , I just did some testing on the Vacuum again and it started working with my commands. I first asked the following:
Alexa, ask wyze vacuum what Grover is doing? Note: Grover is the name of our Vacuum. It informed me that Grover was Charging.
I then said:
Alexa, Ask Wyze Vacuum to Vacuum. Alexa responded letting me know cleaning has commenced and I heard my Vacuum Running. Not needing to clean, I then said âAlexa, ask Wyze Vacuum to stop vacuumingâ, it stopped vacuuming and returned to the docking station.
Itâs specifically the room cleaning function that isnât working. I also have trouble asking it to pause but the command above that I quoted a couple posts ago and the one @finaldestiny731 referenced is what isnât working. Just tried it so no change.
Nope. I say it verbatim as listed in the command list and as you just stated. Not working. Says cannot find a device or group called that. For some other commands it just says I donât know that, or just times out.
I just tried saying what I normally say: âAlexa, ask Wyze Vacuum to clean the Master Bedroomâ, and it responded: âI donât know how to set âHome Vacuumâ (my vacuum name) to that settingâ.
But then I tried a couple of other room names (Laundry, Dining Room) and it seem the ones that donât have âMasterâ in the room name actually works!
So there is something about having âMasterâ in the room name is causing it to fail since end of 2023 (since it worked flawlessly before that).
Seems like I have to change my master bedroom name and retest.
Ok, now Laundry and Dining room no longer works. (I havenât changed any room names yet)âŚ
Gives me the same âI donât know how to set âHome Vacuumâ (my vacuum name) to that settingâ.
I did get âAlexa, ask Wyze Vacuum to clean the Master Closetâ to work once a few mins ago, but now no longer works.
Yes, I tried relinking. But just for kicks, I did again. This time I deleted the device first and then unlinked the account. Iâve noticed issues in the past where it doesnât clear out in the Alexa account. Did not work. I get the same error as before.
Iâm it alone either besides @finaldestiny731 there are lots on the Alexa app reviews that are having issues.
@caveboychris
I am sorry you are having issues, have you contacted the Support Team about this and if so can I get your ticket number? If you have not contacted them I would recommend contacting the Support Team.
Did something change in the app recently? After my robot finishes cleaning a room, the notification now says: âClean completed. Vacuum cleand {1} square feet and it took {0} minutes.â It no longer states the actual square feet and how many minutes.
Iâm also wondering whether this could be the root cause of Alexa Wyze commands not recognizing room names. Seems like the programming variables (room name, square ft, minutes) may not associated correctly!
I have not. Mostly because of the odd nature of it, and I havenât been really pleased with my previous recent interactions, just being a waste of time. When I found this thread with basically the identical issue I was engaged. I was mostly hoping for the visibility. Iâll try to reach out to them.
Not surprising, after recommending all the typical things again, firmware, unplug and plug in, relinking âŚetc despite mentioning some of that in my email, they requested a log , stating it will go to engineering to be considered in future updates yada yada ⌠and are closing the ticket.
I asked about how the apps on Alexa were created, is it Wyze writing it or Amazon. no info. I asked for clarification on the two different firmwares for original and Wal Mart vacuums (I purchased ours through wal mart). I asked about the fact there seems to be two âcurrentâ firmwares. There is one dated newer but the vacuum says itâs up to date. Neither of which are recent. No answer. I asked if I needed to unplug all 7 Echos we have, no answer. They said I should reach out to Amazon, big could not clarify how I can do that as itâs not clear in Alexa, Iâve tried and the best I can find to do is post a review of the wyze app.
Since I had nothing to do today I deleted ALL wyze devices in Alexa, and then disabled the Wyze skill from Alexa. I also, removed all my echo devices from Alexa. I cleared data from my Alexa app.
Then I rebuilt.
Initial tests show it now recognizes the commands. A pain, but I guess it needed a hard reset. Removing just the vacuum from the app was no sufficient, I had to delete all the Wyze devices.
Still very hit or miss. Sometimes it can resolve the room names sometimes it canât find the âgroup or deviceâŚâ somtimg isnât getting processed right by the skill to Alexa.

Completely broken again. Iâm not removing all of my echo devices and re setting them up this timeâŚ
But I did try deleting all of the Wyze devices and disabling and re-enabling the skill and it still gives the same error as before.
My Alexa commands stopped working a few weeks ago as well. I tried updating the commands per mentioned Wyze commands, still donât work. Alexa just responds with a unsuccesful ding and thatâs it. Any updates on resolution?
Wyze commands not working with my Alexa device. Something to the effect that âI donât know how to set wyze vac to that settingâ I have reset everything and everything is up to date. Reading this forum there appears to be no workable solution to this issue or desire to solve the problem. This is very disappointing for any future dealings with Wyze.
