Add More Actions for Wyze Automations (Rules)

Toggle On/Off Automation for plugs and switches

I wish for a shortcut automation Action that toggles between On and Off.
With this shortcut I would only need 1 shortcut widget on my iphone home screen to turn on and off the wyze plug. Currently I have 2 shortcut widgets for the plug. One widget to turn on and a second widget to turn off the plug.
I feel many users who use shortcut widgets would appreciate having the option to select a single shortcut widget for an on/off toggle of their specific devices.
P.S. the new 3.0 app is awesome. No problems. Great refresh of the user interface.

YESSS This NEEDS to be an option, especially due to night time bugs and rain make them go crazy and its such a pain in the ass to remember every night and morning to switch the motion track option on and off. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE RULE LIST

Yessss!! This NEEDS to be a feature, you can turn off motion detection completely but not the Motion Tracking Feature. As others say its basically useless as its constantly picking up heavy rain fall or bugs, causing it to know record a very accurate video of your property at night time.

I’d love to be able to create shortcuts that contain both “turn on for” and “turn off for” commands. Also, it would be great if “turn on for” and “turn off for” contained a greater time range controllable by hour and minute instead of just 0-60 mins.

What specific devices are you looking for to have this action for? This already exists are some devices.

For whatever reason the “Turn floodlight on for…” doesn’t exist on the new Wyze Floodlight Cam.
It is a pain in the *ss for me… as I have to create tons of “turn off floodlight” rules for every hours in the night…

Add option to automatically activate and deactivate motion tracking. During the day the camera tends to track all motions, even the shadows thrown by tree branches. Thus I would like to activate motion tracking during the night but not during the day.

Option to set wyze cam pans move to a specific direction at a certain time, using something like the current waypoints. Currently you can only reset position.

Feature request. Automation: Turn Pan Scan on/off at selected time

During the day i typically have camera position set with Motion On, however would like to be able to turn on Pan Scan at night to cover more of the area.

I am in total agreement. There is period where the light nearing sunset is just not sufficient for a clear image, and switching to night vision mode on a schedule would resolve this. Additionally, I use several cameras to monitor my quail. There is a period each day that i provide them RED light after sunset. The red light prevents auto night vision from engaging but does not make for a very clear image. Insufficient contrast with red light. Being able to schedule when it switches to Auto, On, or Off, would be must helpful in these situations.

disable/enable “track motion” at preset times

Motion Tracking works horribly at night, due to bugs, lights and other interferences. I would love the ability to Enable track motion during the day but to have it automatically disable at night

Automations rule editor: Add “TEST” or “TRIGGER NOW” button

When adding or editing rules in the app, there needs to be a “TEST” or “TRIGGER NOW” button to allow you to test the actions that you have programmed. Sometimes you edit a rule after its trigger time and you want to fire it off now so that the new set of actions happen now instead of at the next scheduled time which could be almost a day later.

I like this. Shortcut Automations already have a button that a user can tap to run (the nature of a Shortcut), and it makes sense to extend this to other Automation types (Schedules, Device & Service Triggers, etc.) for a user to see if the effect of a new Automation works as intended, just like I want to see a similar button in the app for triggering/simulating a doorbell button press (and/or have it available as an Automation Action) for testing features with those products, especially when remote chimes are involved.

I’ve been playing around with settings on a couple of indoors Cam Pan v3s and now I want this one:

I really like the quality of images I get with the Starlight Sensors in these even with the light provided by a couple of regular night lights, but I don’t need to illuminate those areas at all hours, so I’ve scheduled the lights.

  • If I set Night Vision Mode to Off (the way I’ve been using it), then the ambient light provided by the night light is enough to produce color images of acceptable quality, but then when the light is scheduled off there’s not enough visible light in the room to record useful images.
  • If I set Night Vision Mode to Auto, then the visible light provided by the night light isn’t enough to keep it in color mode, regardless of how I set Night Vision Conditions (Dark or Dusk), so to me it makes sense to select Night Vision Mode by schedule to coordinate with the scheduled changes in lighting conditions, but that’s not currently available.

Basically, it seems like any (or almost any; maybe most every) setting that’s available as a user-selectable option should be available as an Automations (formerly Rules) Action. I just wanted to add another use case to the discussion. :upside_down_face:

I came to post the same thing. But it didn’t seem to make it into the list …

The request to turn siren on for x time is already in the list:

Ah sorry newbie. When I voted I didn’t see it in the vote list and now I’m trying to figure out how to go back and change my vote.

You already got it. There is only one “Vote” button at the top of this topic. We also hit the “like” (heart) icon on individual posts. You did both, as did I. :+1:

Someone else was suggesting something just like this in another topic earlier today. Hopefully that feature request will get some traction.
