It would be cool if the pan v3 could do a pan scan if triggered by a sound or shadow or motion the camera isn’t directly looking at, in an attempt to detect/track a car or person.
I have a Wyze Cam battery pro connected to solar. The battery won’t last long enough to continuously record all day every day but I would like to have continuous SD card recording from say 11 PM to maybe 8 AM which the battery could last for. I’d love to see this feature as an automation option under scheduling
Would also vote for action to activate/deactivate doorbell chime, and also actions to enable/disable “do not disturb” mode for the “cameras as chimes”.
The main reason I got the Duo Cam Doorbell was to have “smart” control over my door chimes to avoid waking the baby and disable the doorbell when I am taking work calls.
As my cam pan v3’s and v3 pros suffer frequent performance issues, restarting and resetting also becomes more frequent. Restart has an automation but reset does not. Would like to see Wyze add a reset automation option.
If it is there and I have missed it, please advise.
Thanks.
Good suggestion. No, it is not there. The reset services button is relatively new. I don’t think there have been any new Wyze Rules actions added since it came to exist, so it’s definitely not in there. It might help some people though.
On the downside, sometimes clicking reset also resets all the AI detection and notification settings too though.
On some models I have had to go redo those settings after clicking “Reset” but not on others. Hopefully they can stabilize and standardize that and implement the reset as a rule action.
Motion detection settings (auto)
As part of a larger request, I’d like to request the option to change motion detection based on a schedule.
Usage:
During the day, I don’t need high sensitivity for motion. However, at night, I do. My child has epilepsy and I would like to register the movements and sounds at a high sensitivity, at night, only.
I would like them to revert during the day.
This would have other uses, like tracking all movement outside at night, but not high sensitivity during the day.
Activate many rules at the same time
Hi , it will be very useful to be able to create a shortcut that allows to activate several rules at the same time with just on click . For example , be able to activate same rules of person detection on several c metal with just one click .
A post was merged into an existing topic: Add More Triggers for Wyze Automations (Rules)
+1 I replaced all four of my FL with FLP thinking that I will be making use of this rule with better cameras and better floodlights but no. This critical functionality is not there making the whole PRO moniker feel like a joke. Can Wyze please work on delivering this missing functionality.
Another vote for “Do Not Disturb” schedule ability on doorbells. That feature was so nice to have where I didn’t have to worry about late doorbell chimes late at night but I could still get a phone notification if I wanted. How that was not included on day 1 is mind boggling.
Welcome to the Forum, @glwilson! ![]()
I agree with the idea for scheduling Do Not Disturb to be enabled/disabled, and what I’d really like to see is an option to set a schedule directly within the device’s settings (for instance, for Video Doorbell v2, stick on the Settings ➜ Chime screen). I imagine this being like the ability to set a schedule in Cam v4’s Spotlight Settings. It seems like that’d be a user-friendly way to do it.
Yes doorbell DND actions is what I am looking for!
Need it to support Duo Cam Doorbell and can also turn on/off individual “cameras as chimes”.
The obvious use case is to set schedule for night time, and also manually triggerable for baby naps and zoom calls.
Feature Request: Can we add event recording toggle to the automations for cameras?
I would like to request a feature that would allow event recording to be toggled from the automations tab. This would include toggles for the “Record events triggered by Motion” and “Record events triggered by Sound” switches under event recordings.
This would allow for toggling via schedules, location, and shortcuts. I think this would be a good feature because there would be a lot less events to filter through for cameras that people would only like to have “recording” events while away or during certain times.
I am aware there is a way to disable notifications and motions detection, but when using smart detections, events are constantly being recorded. Especially by interior cameras where there are constantly people.
It would be ideal to keep the camera on and recording to the sd card, but not recording hundreds of smart detection events during certain schedules or when people are supposed to be in view of the camera.
Please put in the ability to Format All (meaning) I have 23 cameras and everyone knows that if your video playback gets choppy or doesn’t seem to be right just formatting your SD card usually fixes everything… Well someone like me that has a lot of cameras its a pain to go to each camera and go into the settings then all that blah blah blah to get to the format - then to wait till they are all done can take a while. Just put in an option to Format All Cards that way they can all be done at once and a lot faster… Thanks
This “group” function would be very useful for almost all settings…
E.g.
Changing multiple cameras SD settings to “Continuous” instead of “Event”
Format all SD cards
Turn on Spotlight
Etc etc etc
I’d like to request the addition to choose existing scenes when programing rules and shortcuts on the iOS app.
There is not currently an option to do so.
Is you’ve created a scene you like, but would then like to automate it, you have to recreate to brightness and color setting manually when programming the rule or shortcut.
Please add an option to choose from existing scenes when creating rules and shortcuts.
Attached is an image showing the lack of the option.
Currently using iOS and color Wyze bulbs.
Thank you!
I’d like to create an automation for a Wyze bulb that does a 20 second count down before it turns the bulb off. I don’t see a way to do that, so am putting it on the wish list. Thanks.
You can do an Alexa routine for this if you have your smart account and devices linked.
Would it be possible to get a location based trigger to open a garage door?
It’s not officially supported as a rule action to open the garage door. The answer you should take from this is “No, it’s not possible [to do this directly through Wyze].”
Having said that, nothing is impossible…there are complicated advanced ways to do it for someone really insistent and willing.
Some people are able to get the garage door to open or close through something like Alexa. And since Alexa does allow for location routines, you could just do it all that way. I think Google allows this as well, but I can’t remember off the top of my head. So those are two of the easiest workarounds you could explore here.
If those don’t work for some reason, there is a method that will work [pretty reliably], but it’s a lot more difficult to set up. Basically you would need and Android phone with either the Tasker app or macrodroid app or something similar. Then you would need to set up some sort of trigger to activate when you get close to home. Then For the action, both of these apps allow you to do something tricky, where it pretends to be a mouse. And you can set the exact location on the screen you want it to touch and how long to pause before touching somewhere else and basically act like your finger did it automatically. So by doing this you would set up a trigger to unlock your phone. Open the Wyze app. Open the camera. And click the button for the garage door.
Doing this kind of thing is recommended to do on either a secondary phone that just sits at home that you don’t take around with you, or on a virtual machine running Android. So your primary phone would have a location trigger that then initiates a trigger on your at home device that would then automatically open the wise app and the garage door.
Not ideal, but you asked if it is possible and I know someone who was doing exactly that with Macrodroid.
