I would gladly pay for a Wyze siren/chime that could be connected to any Wyze door sensor, motion sensor or camera motion sensor. Plus the Panic botton idea just posted is at the top of the list too. Please add these item to your next devices deal and Wyze would take over the Market don’t you think…
It would be nice if Wyze made a chime/ siren for their cameras.
Yes this is needed once sensitivity can be complex enough to prevent false alerts on the cameras and the PIR sensors. I purchased camera but they trigger on light changes(dawn, dust, clouds), bugs, and are generally too sensitive for real world scenarios. Then I purchased the PIR sensors hoping they would suffice as a PERSON trigger since the camera settings are turned off…but the PIR sensors are too sensitive as well(trigger to wind moving water nearby. water is not a person) and trigger when my other yard lights with PIRs don’t trigger. If a siren is added this will cause a nuisance for neighbors and folks would ignore or call police on my property! I was planning on using the wifi outlet to turn on when pir alerts and have an AC powered siren to go off when it powers up…but thats on hold until PIRs or cameras actual trigger as intended.
Welcome to the community, @CordCutter. The Wyze motion sensors are optimized and intended for indoor use only. Using them outside will probably not behave as you would expect outdoor PIR sensors to function. However, Wyze is developing an outdoor camera with PIR. You can read about and discuss it in this thread if you wish. ![]()
The Wyze Pan needs a 110db+ alarm to scare off intruders. With that you effectively have a product to beat all the new comers like Bosma who is more money and does not have motion tracker. Alarms are cheap to put in and don’t take up much room. Maybe a plug in ad on for all of us who already have pan(s)
Just to chime in, I think that Wyze could easily make a siren that plugs into the back of the cams. IMHO that would work very well.
The only issue would be if someone wanted a siren in a cam that they have a bridge plugged into.
Wyzecams v3 should have a built in siren. It would be a great and well used addition.
Just my thought on adding a high decibel tone device. A much stronger multi-conditional trigger dependence scripting is needed to add a higher level of confidence before scaring the neighborhood.
Adding a horn type device is doable now using the Wyze plug, however it is prone to false triggering with the current mobile app.
I would love a stronger mobile application over additional products, which I view as the needed gateway to market differentiation beyond any third-party solution to allow the Wyze portfolio of new products to grow sales revenue with tight integration.
The siren is a good add request but in the meanwhile why can’t Wyze add the audio feature to it’s built in 2 way audio system? Use the speaker of the cam to generate an audio clip from the app, that shouldn’t be hard!! If you have multiple cams i assure you the audio alarm would be quite loud, specially at night when any noise sounds much louder. The cell phone app Alfred Camera also has this feature but you have to manually trigger it from the app, but it’s still quite good .
The cameras are reliable, I must say. But… given the poor performance of the bulbs and plugs randomly turning on … not sure I want them to make a siren.
The siren was to be something in the software to turn it on. ie you get 15 seconds from camera and you see someone on your property. you can wither speak t them and or hit a button that is connected to sound file which could be alarm sound, dogs barking sound or both.
I would LOVE and definitely purchase a Wyze loudspeaker option. Ideally, i would want both an indoor loudspeaker system AND a weatherproof outdoor loudspeaker system.
i would want the loudspeaker system to have an “instant max volume” feature that would crank the volume up as high as it would go for emergency alerts. But i may also want the ability to control volume for minor alerts, such as “the kitchen door has opened” while i am home.
I would want an ability to sound an annoying alarm to deter intruders and miscreants. I would also like the ability to speak through the loudspeaker from the remote app. I would like the ability to warn intruders of the police being on their way, and i would like the ability to warn nearby neighbors of any emergency in progress. THAT would be amazing! PLEASE make this happen!
Was just about to type this and saw your comment. Voted.
One thing I would add is the ability to play camera sounds at different times. After a delay basically. You could upload different mp3s (or whatever) to make it sound like someone is calling to someone else in another room, and getting a reply.
Like:
“Hey honey, did you hear that?”
“Yeah, let me see what it was.”
Or
“John! Someone is in here!”
“Give me the shotgun! …”
A speaker that can be programmed with multiple audio clips that presents a menu of sounds to be associated with a given sensor.
I wouldn’t want to use a google, amazon or apple speaker integration, as surveillance of my home is none of their business.
I would think that if there was a Wyze electrical contact set with limited programmed controls you can create your own siren. The key is to make sure you don[t blast the ‘neighborhood’ unless specific logical functions are met to allow this alarming event else the Wolf will eat you!
It was suggested here to make it a programming issue. Just create a button on the phone that when you want to send the pre programmed sound through the speakers already on the unit you push it. That will suffice for now especially if you have more than 1 camera set up. Then the next generation can just have either a louder speaker or an actual alarm. I had to get one with an alarm and if anything happens flip to that camera and hit the alarm. Same I could have bought 2 more Wyze pan’s for the price I had to pay for 1 that does not even have motion tracking.
We had a SimpliSafe system; the siren was 105 db and was not nearly loud enough. It could not be heard throughout the house, questionable whether we would be awakened by it. We would like a siren loud enough to be heard by everywhere in the house, and by neighbors when we are not home. Not sure what the DB would need to be, but a lot louder than 110db. The siren should also be set off by the entry and motion sensors.

The accessibility benefits of a small portable programmable speaker would outweigh those of a siren.
Wyze Should come up with a Plugin Siren that interface with Smart Plug, Motion Detector and Sensors.
Please see attachment of already existing Siren made by Insteon. This is very useful for Break in Protection, specifically in the evenings when you are asleep where you can be warned of breaching security!!
I’m new here and I am far from knowledgeable about the inner workings of these incredible Wyze devices and what makes them tick. BUT… in light of today’s technology, it doesn’t seem like it would be hard to make a device like a Wyze Plug that has a loud chirp and/or siren built in that could be grouped with reliable (no false alerts) sensors and manually turned on or off. An alarm was the first thing I thought the Wyze team should develop after installing my system. And it seems like it could be easy.
