Your comment sounded like you were having difficulty re-connecting them after the fact. That is why I suggested what I did. You only use it in airplane mode for the setup, not for normal use. But do whatever you want. I was only trying to help. Maybe be clearer with your comments?
I said āplugs not staying connected ⦠if the plug goes offline, it never turns off.ā, not me connecting to them. Sorry if that wasnāt clear.
I have 2 new plugs. Got one to work, the other wonāt connect⦠But now discovered that the 1st one is Off line
@granbjd22 Usually restarting the router will get them connected again. Itās worth a try and it has worked for me many times.
did that already ⦠Got the most important plug back on line (which it never should have gone offline to begin with) the 2nd plug, Wyze is sending me a new oneā¦
Iām also having this same issue with Wyze plugs, especially the plug controlling my living room floor lamp. Iāll delete the plug from the Wyze app and then add it back in. Everything works after that only to see it appear as offline when I check it from work. Iāve rebooted my router and it helps for a while but this should not be something I have to do in order to get the Wyze plug to remain online. Last week I had my WIFI upgraded from 6 Mbps to 25 to accommodate the 16 WIFI devices I have online so the signal strength from my router shouldnāt be an issue. And the router is only 10 feet away from the Wyze plug. I just added my Wyze Pan Camera to the list after having it disconnected for months because I decided to go with a V2 camera in this particular spot in my living room. The Pan Camera is working really well, even from work. Quite happy. Hopefully the new Wyze Video Doorbell complements the whole setup.
These outlets simply do not work, i guess that is why they are so cheap,
Both my Wyze plugs will not stay online, And the process to setup and link to Alexa is time consuming and dodgey at best. Dont even go on about the cameras! Its a Wyze issue cuz I have plugs and switches from Wemo and TFLink and they are rock solid. Not gonna beat a dead horse, done with Wyze, sorry, not sorry.
I disagree on the cams. Iāve had a few online for a few years now without issue.
The outlets on the other hand are not good. Itās a bad design and the controller they use is unreliable.
My largest complaint is the fuse is on the neutral/return side. Itās not doing much safety wise being there.
TP-Link outlets are junk too though. They are not secure in my opinion.
Checkout Nooie or Gosund outlets. I have had nothing but good experience with them.
What did they say?
I bought a four pack of these interior plugs, but I have only started using two of them. One of them goes offline frequently. It is easy to tell it is offline, when you walk by it is blinking. If you are going to use these devices to reboot other devices they need to be more dependable. The firmware is up-to-date too.
The only way I can get it back when it goes offline is to delete and re-add it. I have the exterior plug, and it seems much more stable.
Mine go off frequently. Itās annoying when Iām home and can redo the whole setup procedure, but the reason I wanted them was to operate lights, a small heater, and such when Iām on the road. If they go offline, I have to wait til Iām home to set them up again. This makes them worse than useless if I am relying on them. The cameras go out also, but less often. I am very close to abandoning this āsmartā effort, and relying instead on the neighbor boy to look after the house.
Iāve found that the V1 versions of the outlets are more reliable. Iāve gone through 10 V2 plugs. All will not get past the firmware upgrade. One did take the firmware update but then goes off line constantly. I tried their RouteThis app, Up and download speeds are fine. It appears they do not have a solution to this and might be avoiding to recall all the V2 versions. I have been at this since the beginning of December when their network went down.
@dakine001
If you have a CFH plug that goes offline (this is most likely the v2 you re referring to) can you delete it completely from the app and set it up again from scratch and if/when it goes offline again submit a log in the app and post the log number here.
Jason21271:
Iāve done that several time prior to this point. Even tried the Routethis. See GNMZUD7F.
Then for some unknown reason (Iāve tried all week before), it took the firmware update.
Thought everything was hunky dory and place back to control lights. It turned on fine,
according to Rules that were set up. But then sometime after, went offline. Came home
and removed it from my outlet. Plug still shows up in the iphone app but with a cloud and
line thru it. So submitted a support log.

I thought I had found the solution (leaving the plug ON), but I had one go offline again just now.
At least it does not force a power down when it goes offline because my PC was plugged into this one !!
These V2 plugs are not dependable. I recommend only using the outdoor plug until they get this figured out. They are not much use when they go āofflineā. My outdoor one has never gone offline.
@dakine001
I will get this log number to the team thank you
I found a solution. First, I tossed the v1 plugs, I have about 20 v2 (Bluetooth) plugs now. They were dodgy too. I found if made āstatic IPā they would be OK (this is inconvenient, and not needed, just for test). That means to issue is with Wi-Fi connecting. If the Wi-Fi signal drops too low, they will not reconnect, and they only try to reconnect once. I was running around playing Wack a Mole, plugging and unplugging them, So I called ISP company (Spectrum) and for free, upgraded my router to the newest Wi-Fi 6 router that auto picks 2.4 and 5ghz bands for devices. They also replace older weathered cable lines. These all now work perfect with no issue for a couple months now.
Its wait and see. I sent Wyze the log numbers and RouteThis number.
I just returned another 4 to Amazon. Thats 8 so far, plus the 2 Wyze sent
for warranty replacementā¦unusable.
@dakine001 Try my solution of ISP giving you a new router Wi-Fi 6 (ax). Speed test doesnāt really tell anything. Max speed is based on wired (ethernet), and then is maybe at most a quarter of that for Wi-Fi and even less for 2,4 ghz band, which these and most devices compete for. The bandwidth gets used up and is even less when household and neighbors are home (even if not on your network), Even 5ghz device try to jump on the 2,4ghz band, cuz they see that first. So when the router dynamic IP switches addresses, or 2.4ghz band drops too much, these miss the only one chance to reconnect. The new Wi-Fi 6 fixes this, and makes the 2.4ghz band stronger, and 5ghz band longer, which keeps 5ghz devises on their own band
