I just had someone with the Roku Monitoring confirm the following for me.
Without paying for Pro Monitoring, they still:
So it does sound like it really is true Self Monitoring with Roku using the same hardware/service. Hopefully, that is a good sign that Wyze will be updating the Wyze app to allow this for their HMS in the near future too.
My guess is that Roku told Wyze this was something they absolutely needed to have ready by launch time, so Wyze applied the resources necessary to make that a priority. Now that the code is developed already, hopefully it can be ported over to the Wyze app as well. I wish this would’ve happened before the recent AMA so I could’ve asked about it then. I will certainly try to ask about it in the next event though. I personally think it’s a positive sign that progress was made on this, and I don’t blame them for first prioritizing it with a partner that made it a requirement for their needs. And with Ring Recently getting rid of their free self-monitoring option, there is some potential to capture more market share if they start to offer it and funnel more users into their ecosystem.
That’s a lot of hopium.
Definitely must have siren and send monitoring. Wyze is deliberately avoiding this. Going to have to dump all the be wyze and go with another system. Very very disappointred in Wyze. Been with them a long time.
What do you mean by it must “send monitoring” for self-monitoring mode?
self monitoring…not send. Dictation error missed.
Oh geez, I should’ve realized that since it happens to me when I’m typing (gesture typing) from my phone all the time too. Thanks for the clarification.
I’ve a lot of Wyze cameras, and currently the only thing that block me from buying home alarm components from Wyze, is this subscription thing.
It’s been more than three years. They are never going to do this.
Who knows, if enough clients ask for a feature, the might be enclined to code it.
It always free to ask
