Wyze Duo Cam Pan spotlight auto on

Spotlight will not turn on automatically when motion is detected. I believe the problem is the setting “light will turn on when it is dark”. Because the street lights shine into my porch therefore it is never dark but not enough light for me to see the front door lock, so I want the camera light to turn on automatically so I can see my key and my lock.

I also have the lamp socket version 2 and that won’t turn on the light when motion is detected.

All cameras have the latest update and wyze cell phone app has the latest update.

Have you tried using Device & Service Trigger Automations instead? I don’t have Duo Cam Pan, but in something like Cam Pan v4 or Cam v4 if the spotlight is set to Auto then it may not turn on if the Cam detects sufficient ambient light. In that case, you can essentially override this by using an Automation to tell the Cam to turn on the spotlight if it sees motion (or detects a Person if you’re using a subscription), and that should happen regardless of ambient light.

Regarding the Lamp Socket v2, how do you have that set? What really annoys me about Lamp Socket v2 control is that it requires a schedule to be set for motion-activated lighting, and the choices for leaving the light on are pretty limited. I’ve been urging Wyze to fully expose Lamp Socket v2 to Automations, because that would give users more flexibility and better control, but I don’t know if or when they’ll do this.
