The Battery Cam Pro uses MM Wave RADAR for motion detection (when set to anything less than the maximum detection setting anyway). Does that count?
All I can tell you is if I add an extra node to my mesh my ass hurts. I don’t like my ass to hurt so I make do with a weak cam on the far perimeter.
Perfect.
That’s actually impressive. Much more accurate that PIR and I believe less energy usage too.
I was going to convert my outdoor motion sensor lights to radar ones but they’re still pretty rare (not a good selection) and typically overpriced.
That being said, I’m glad Verizon did not pick my neighborhood for one of their mmwave antennas, I get blasted with enough RF and 30-40ghz, even at very low power, is enough to make your cells do some funky things. But of course the studies they funded show absolutely no harm whatsoever. It actually prevents cancer. The closest one is around a mile away, at their low power levels and high dispersion, it isn’t hitting my house.
Actually, its funny (but really not), when they were first piloting it, the antennas popped up right in front of the housing projects in several cities around here.
I recall a few people being upset that the government supplied free phones that everyone in those buildings have were being given priority for the ultra fast data. I was like, um, no, I don’t think that’s it. Think more along the lines of testing COVID shots in poor sections of Africa.
Oy.
I mean it’s an appropriate topic for a thread discussing conspiracy theories, but sometimes conspiracies are actually conspiracies. Not really any other explanation for it, not like they were selling those folks their ultra high cost cellular plans or wireless internet service…
I suppose you could argue they put the ugly antennas (and they are ugly) in front of ugly buildings rather than in nicer areas, but considering they were on poles maybe 20 feet high, their range was probably about 1 city block at most. So it’s not like they were covering affluent areas but hiding the ugly antennas at the same time.

Been that way since 1951

Who needs “Seinfeld” with this crew:squinting_face_with_tongue:
I appreciate that show even more after watching Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I tried to watch Curb your Enthusiasm and I just couldn’t get into it. I watched at least 6-10 episodes because so many people kept raving about it, but I guess it just wasn’t my thing. I finally gave up.
It took me a little while to warm to it, because the improvisational style lacked the flow of a scripted comedy, especially in the early episodes. I think eventually the cast hit their stride, though, and even when they brought in guests it just got funnier and funnier to me, especially when I would see or hear something and have an aha! moment, like, “Oh, so that’s why they did this on Seinfeld.”
Plus Larry David playing an exaggerated version of himself is just ridiculous in a funny way, and the way his character is so unfiltered with others makes him almost heroic, in a sense.
Yeah I was that way with “It’s always sunny”. It was actually mostly the guy from “horrible bosses” that bugged me, that voice.
Larry David is great but Curb never did it for me. Never a huge seinfeld fan either, too much complaining and whining. Almost seemed like spoiled brat comedy.
