Yes I can sign out of my wyzecam account and sign in their account on my iphone. I have their wyzecam username and password as well. So you want me to do that right now?
So after I do that, update the time.
Then log out of their wyzecam account again and delete device? Then what is exact next step? Log out of their wyzecam account and log into mine? Then what? I want to know all the steps before I do all this.
Is it better to just have their phone and do this as oppose to sign in their wyzecam account on my phone? I donât mind either. I just want to make sure I do it correctly.
Again the most important thing here is to make my wyzecam account and thus my iphone, the owner of the account that controls the settings and not their wyzecam and their iphone. I can do the sync time later at the end if that needs to be fixed.
If you want to have full control and not just fix the time in this instance, I would either login to their account on your phone delete the camera, then sign into your account, reset and pair the camera to your account, then fix the time if needed.
Or you can use their phone, delete the cam, reset and pair the cam to your phone, then fix the time.
When you say reset, you mean hold the reset button for few seconds but make sure you remove the microsd card out first right?
The thing was I was wondering if I could do this without needing to press and hold the reset button on the wyzecam itselfâŚ
Thus could I log into their wyzecam account and delete camera or go on their own and delete the camera⌠then just go on my wyzecam account and make my account the primary one? Or no matter what, I still need to reset it⌠which means remove the microsd card and hold the reset button for few seconds? Because isnât this like setting it up brand new though? So basically I have to set up brand new?
Okay so in other words, you need to set it up like a new camera. I thought there was an easier way without doing this. Thus I thought something with settings and you could change it like that but there isnât? Can anyone here confirm I Have to set it up like a new camera?
This is what has me confused then. Last time when they made changes to the router and the wyzecam, I had no idea they made their camera the owner of it. As around that time, I was still the owner. That wyzecam is located in their location and I was not there at the time. But i am pretty positive i never got a message that said they wanted to share their camera with me. So do you know how this is even possible then?
Back then I noticed they made changes to wyzecam like renaming it but I had thought at the time, I was still in control of it. But even if I wasnât, didnât they need to share the camera with me? Because I donât remember ever getting a message the other user is trying to share the camera with me⌠as when i click wyzecam it always looked the same.
We do it all the time for our customers its so simple,if your going to delete the camera from there account and add it back into your account, then just deleted from there account and when you added back to your account the time will be correct
Okay so use the other iphone and delete the camera from the account.
Then use my iphone with my wyzecam to add the wyzecam again correct? But this still requires me to remove the microsd card and hold the reset button for few seconds before having to rescan it?
Thus I am essentially resetting it and setting it up as a new device? So there is no way for me to not reset the device and just make me the owner of the wyzecam and not the other user?
No. Youâre going to have to reset the cam to take ownership.
Just go through the steps to add the cam like it is new. Connect your phone to the WiFi at the camâs location, tap the â+â icon in the upper right of the Wyze app home page, tap the reset button on the cam, the cam will make a âbingâ noise and announce, âReady to Connectâ. Then follow the setup instructions displayed in the app.
Re-adding the cam to take ownership does not prevent the person at the camâs location from doing the same as soon as you leave. It sounds like whomever at the camâs location changed the WiFiâs SSID name and/or password and reset the cam, then shared it back to you.
I used the other iphone and other wyzecam account to delete the device. I then went to my iphone and the wyzecam. So apparently I removed the microsd card from the wyzecam while it was already plugged in. I was suppose to unplug the power first right before I remove it? Because I did not do this. I assume that would risk damage to the microsd card only right? Because the micro sd card seems to be fine after putting it back in later on when I finished setting it up.
I then shared the wyzecam with the other iphone wyzecam account. I have the detention settings and event recording on as normal. I did notice when I go to Cam Plus LIte (PD Legacy), this wyzecam i just setup isnât turned on. I then turned it on. I do have another wyzecam in another location that is turned on. So I need to have this turned on correct? The thing that is confusing is only those accounts that signed up for Cam Plus LIte (PD Legacy) a while back gets it right?
Cam Plus LIte is available to anyone who signs up for the service at any time as of now. Yes if you want cloud record you will want all cameras enabled with a Cam Plus service. Remember that Cam Plus LIte still has a 5-minute cooldown so triggered motion would only show up every 5 minutes at the earliest.
I have it turned on for this camera and on my other wyzecam. But do I need set up person notifications?
If I donât, then it will only show motion detections? But if I do this, it would only be person detections? So person detection is better right? But can you always undo this or not?
Yes, you need to enable Person Detection for each Cam Plus Lite cam. Itâs not in the usual cam settings location, itâs located in your account settings for some odd reason:
Wyze app Home > Account > Cam Plus Lite (PD Legacy) menu > tap âSet Up Person Notificationsâ at the bottom > tap âNextâ at the bottom > make sure your cams have Person Notifications toggled on > tap âConfirmâ.
it depends on your settings. If you set up in-person detections and have notifications set to Wyze AI Events and All other Motion Events. you will get notifications for both. If you only want person notifications, turn off all other motion events.
For me, I have it set to give me a notification for a person but not for other motions. But all motion recorded is uploaded to the cloud.
Okay thanks for that information. So should I make sure the other two phones that I am sharing the wyzecam with make sure it has Cam Plus LIte (PD Legacy) installed for each?
Yes, only the owner of the camera needs to have Cam Plus LIte enabled. If they have notifications set to Wyze AI events they will still get person detection notifications.
Okay. So those other two iphones that I shared the wyzecam with⌠I do not see any Cam Plus Lite or anything like that installed there. The reason is because they would need to have a wyzecam that they control to have this option⌠is that correct?
So are they going to get the exact notifications that Iâm getting right now on my iphone as I control this wyzecam now.
For shared users, they can access their notification settings through the settings ( icon) when viewing the live stream. If those settings match what is on your phone, They will get the same notifications as you get.
