@Newshound understands perfectly. He is stating Wyze’s reasoning behind the decision to disallow continuous SD recording or longer than 12-sec event recordings.

Wyze Cam Outdoor Continuous Recording

As many people have been disappointed by the outdoor cam delivered not living up to what was expected from a camera. I believe not giving the customer the option to have continuous recording available on the camera was one of the biggest let downs. Yes of course it will reduce the life span of the battery between charging sessions but I strongly believe that the customer should at least have the CHOICE to opt in for continuous recording at the cost of a shorter battery life. Complete Motion Recording + Playback on Wyze Cam Outdoor SD cards

Please create a setting for those with SD cards in the Cam Outdoor to record motion longer than 12 seconds, with the option to decrease the cooldown period and use playback like all of the other Wyze cams. We understand that it will shorten battery life, but that should be our choice. We also shouldn’t need to get Cam Plus for complete motion recordings. Also the excuse that it could shorten battery life is invalid because you can do the same thing with Cam Plus.
