I have four WCO version one cams which I purchased on pre-order in late summer 2020. I used them around the outside of the house until I could figure out how to get power to the V3 and V3 Pro cams. I still have one WCO mounted to the West side of the house in a low traffic area, the other three are critter cams for the cats, possum, raccoons and the one $#@*&%# Rat. They provide me with a lot of entertainment but I won’t be purchasing any more battery cams when they finally die off.
Sorry for the confusion — those aren’t real numbers just some examples. I’m a bit removed from being able to see exactly what the quantities are. But the decision was made because the actual numbers are not feasible.
You boast that to have 10 million users. What percentage of sales were the WOC 1-2?
Profit numbers or customer sales numbers?
When a company says out of stock and not discontinued, it implies it will be coming back in stock or a newer version is about to be released. No responsible company says otherwise. News stories talked about exciting upcoming products for 2024. I passed on pre-Black Friday deals and kept waiting for updates. So consider me more than a little irritated. Been a Wyze customer for years. This is BS. The team can yak all they want but Wyze dropped the ball in an unnecessary and unforgivable way. Don’t know if I am ever going to buy it again. For the high prices now being asked and the loss of features, going the wrong way for me. Too bad. What disappointment.
I agree, I have been searching and asking and as of just a couple weeks back was told the same thing as the last 6 months, that its not discontinued, but just out of stock at the moment, and its coming they just dont know when. but then I read on here, its not coming back, I have been waiting for nothing. sad
Apparently it has been 6 months since this issue was brought up and they are still listed on the Wyze website as “Out of Stock.” PM should be ashamed or worse…
Was just looking to add to a few more after seeing an Amazon Prime Days ad for the Blink Cameras but unfortunately i guess that is not going to happen…
Feedback for the Wyzw team who responded before saying the BCP is better. I took a look and sorry but the Outdoor Cam…
1 - costs less
2 - has more flexible mounting options especially if not a permanent installation
3 - allows local recording on the hub…someone steals the BCP the local recording is useless (if it is easy enough to remove the battery then easy enough for someone to steal it or the SD card)
4 - has the hub which can effectively extends the range for placement in your yard
Thoughs for future products…
I made the mistake of purchasing multiple Wyze version two outdoor cameras. The battery which is supposed to last six months, last about six weeks tops! I suspect this is why they are not replenishing the inventory for these to be purchased. I am so disappointed in this company! I really really wish I had done more research because the more I dig around the more I find out how truly unhappy their customers are with their products.
Are we soulmates? Twins?.. you articulated exactly how I feel about the loss of the WCO v1/v2 form factor. This ‘cube’ is perfect for how I use them as well. I have 7 WCO v1’s around the perimeter around my house being used as ‘trail cams’, catching footage of raccoons, possum, mice, rats, rabbits, snakes, coyotes, etc.
I also had one WCO v2, that comically got knocked off of a brick wall by a racoon I suspect, and tumbled down a hill in to hillside patch of plants. The WCO was taped up with camouflage tape, i still can’t find the darn thing… (Camouflage must be working as designed…)
My WCO’s get moved from time to time, sometimes freestanding on the ground, sometimes mounted to a camera mount pointing down the hill at a wildlife path, sometimes on the roof to see if birds are thinking about crawling under my new solar panels.
Purchasing eight of the Wyze Battery Cam Pro’s is cost prohibitive, and it has no easy solution for placing them on the ground with a stand like the WCO v1/v2 has.
I guess when my V1’s finally die, the enjoyment of a low cost trailcam, as I use them, will be over.
I still have four WCO v1 cams that have been in operation since November 2020. I also use them on my critter freeway. I have 3 of them mounted on a short piece of 4x4 on the ground with aftermarket screw mounts to watch critters close up. When they die off I am not getting any more battery powered cams. I also move them to various locations depending on the time of year and when and if the critters change their routes.
I have two of these cameras. Ever since the update on the other wired cameras, I lost the connection. I have removed them and tried to reset them but nothing.
