Wyze Cam on a Birdfeeder

After day 1, I know you are right. With that said, anything it does catch means I won’t need to sweep it up from the ground. I also started thinking about rain and snow… Hopefully it all works out. Time ALWAYS tells all.

I was going to write something else but since this site is family friendly, I think that Pileated Woodpecker
could peck a hole through a 2x4.

Nice job! I don’t think I will ever see one at my suet feeder but I do see (and hear) them all around me.

I have 3 cameras pointed at my window mounted birdfeeder.

I am pleased with the way my new seed catcher is working out. I was very concerned that the birds wouldn’t care for it. Based on these few clips, that concern has been put to rest. The juvenile Cardinal is my favorite. On a separate note, it’s no wonder Chickadees are always looking for a seed. Talk about high energy!

By far my favorite clip of the weekend. Speaking of which, I hope you all had a great one!

Made a tiny focus adjustment to my up close feeder cam. It’s pretty darn good if you ask me and probably as good as it can get for the cameras resolution. The lens is less than 2 inches from the birds. These two photos are cropped even closer to get rid of the circular fisheye and I’m really pleased with them.

The Cardinals haven’t been at my feeder for a few days now, but this Red-bellied woodpecker seems to have taken their place. She makes 3 visits in this clip and is very talkative.

So now I have my Wyze Outdoor Cam situated again on my birdbath for the fall/winter - I think I have to readjust the settings to pick up on the smaller birds that show up. Right now I mostly get squirrels, mourning doves, and myself. But occasionally I’ll get a Blue Jay and/or Cardinal having a drink or bathing…

Greenhouse Platform is now vulnerable. Someone has figured out an attack plan. The shelf is 5 feet above ground. This dove survived.

Here in Minnesota we are turning the weather corner in a big way this week. It was well below freezing when I woke up and the high is going to struggle to hit 40 degrees. What in the world is this American Goldfinch still doing here? I thought I wouldn’t see another one for months. I wonder if it is injured and couldn’t make the trip south with the others?

He didn’t stay long or get anything to eat, but I’m very happy to report I had a Northern Flicker visit my birdfeeder this morning. What a beautiful woodpecker!

A yellow shafted one! They are our ground ant eaters here in NH and can be seen on our lawn in the summer. I have not seen a red shafted flicker in years😞.

That’s pretty cool.

Our first snowfall of the season. It has been below freezing for the past few days, so unfortunately it looks like it is going to stick. The birds sure are making the most of it this morning. Chickadees, House Finches, a Dark Eyed Junco (thinks about feeder perch but not confident enough just yet), and both a male and female Cardinal.

The Northern Cardinals dominate the birdfeeder for a good 10 minutes. It seems like they are really enjoying the first snowfall of the season. Almost as much as I enjoy having them around.

There has been a pair of wrens staying in a wood pile near this camera. Here, a Peregrine Falcon just misses its lunch. Out of focus, but the tiny wren can just be seen heading toward the right in front of the falcon after the near miss. Wren Escapes Falcon 11 17 22 - YouTube
