I’ll have to submit a bug report. Chime has been rock solid but now with this firmware goes offline at least once or twice a day.

Seeing the same. And I can confirm it is the beta firmware because I updated 2 of the 3 at three different locations and it is the two updated that have gone offline twice over a couple of days.

@WyzeAndy @WyzeJasonJ Is there any value in posting log IDs here anymore? Or is everything handled in the backend?

The wi-fi chimes will not stay online for more than so many hours on this beta firmware. Definitely offline no longer than once a day.

But that isn’t even what is frustrating me here. I’m a “user” beta tester (for many more companies than Wyze), this part of it is to be expected. But I’ve been beta testing Wyze products for many years. And I know not everyone has every product so you won’t always get comments from your fellow community members.

However, I don’t remember valid trouble reports not even getting any kind of acknowledgment after several days. Is participating in the beta program even worth it anymore? I used to get the sense that someone was relaying information to the back end engineering team. Someone would ask for trouble logs. If not for quick fixes there was at least a sense of engagement. Is that all but gone?

I feel like I’m having a rude awakening here. I have already proactively removed every product from my beta testing list that doesn’t have a SIM card, as there is no way to facilitate downgrading firmware with issues. But I have to ask, why bother having a beta program if no one is consistently engaging with their “free” beta testing community?

Smile,
I can hear you.
I’ll need some information first
Just the basic facts

Yes I certainly hear you, and agree!

I’ve got mine on ping and reboot setup using another smart plug for now

It would appear that the firmware also broke my chimes. They will not stay online. Any ideas?

We’ll have to wait for a fix from WYZE with next beta release

Keep submitting trouble logs for the devices. It can’t hurt since Wyze has otherwise gone radio silent on this thread.

@Simple @evans1733 Have either of you noticed your chimes staying online or are you continuing to experience them disconnecting?

The one at my location, that I am able to physically reboot, appears to still be online 24-48 hours since the last reboot. The one at the other location, which I cannot remotely reboot but could have been rebooted by someone there, is also online.

I’m continuing to monitor them but I’m starting to wonder if there was something going on in the backend that Wyze could have corrected.

(Of course it would be helpful if anyone from Wyze even acknowledged the issue after 10 days and provided any information/updates but alas we’re clearly on our own here.)

I just attached an email notification to my probe so I can see how often my ping probe setup is restarting the Chime device. I’ll keep you posted. I saw it it go into the red/blue flash sequence and then get reboot yesterday. I think it has been only about once a day.

I use this product with an old Wemo plug for the ping probe/restart

It appears Wyze has quietly revoked this beta firmware for the Chime. It is no longer showing as available to my 3rd (and not previously updated) device.
