I’m on iOS and not having any problems either. In fact response time is definitely faster on all cams and running much “smoother”. Just very disappointed they didn’t change the event thumbnails back to the original size. Is what it is.
@TinaC Why is this happening? What can I do about it? I’ve been without a device list for hours!
That’s a serious problem ![]()
Yes it is!!
I am assuming you don’t have any Android devices and you can’t load an older app version on IOS
That would be correct
Take a shot with this .
Delete your data and your cash for the wyze app, uninstall the wyze app, shut down your device , fire it back up, reinstall the wise app.
Might not do any good at all, never know
Sounds like the typical update, software or firmware, from Wyze. Change the code and let the user community test it. Seems to happen every time there’s any kind of significant release.
Suggestion for the development team (based on over 30 years in software development) - REGRESSION TESTING. Don’t use the users as a test group - we don’t like it.
Think I’ll wait a month or two before updating.
@tcho Sent you PM.
Uninstalled the Beta app and I got the same blank results after I installed the production app. Sent logs ticket ID # 29793.
Thanks, Tina! ![]()
Restarting the cameras (through the updated app, not recycling power) did not restore access to playback from the installed SD card prior to the firmware update, although strangely, the Events listings prior to the firmware update were still viewable. I suspect these were accessed from the cloud, however, as trying to access playback from the event clip was still unsuccessful.
I was able to retrieve the previous week’s recordings by removing the SD card and downloading them, so it seems that the files were not wiped, just inaccessable to the app courtesy of the firmware “update.” While not a complete disaster, however, this is not always that convenient and it obviates an ability to download the files from the installed card over the WiFi network, which is currently unavailable. Now that would be a useful “update.” I’m just not sure the current hardware is up to the task.
In addition, I had been waiting since fall of 2019 for the release of the Outdoor Cam, but given the increasingly flaky ‘updates’ to the app and firmware, I cannot say I am sorry I didn’t jump at the ‘opportunity’ to be one of the first users of it. Granted the price point is quite good for all of Wyze’s products, but the reliability is starting to falter.
Problem fixed all my devices are showing up now. No more blank screen. Everything suddenly started working again. ![]()
You just opened the app and devices showed up?
Tina asked me to uninstall my Beta app and try the production app again. So I installed the production app and got a blank screen just like yesterday. Then about 20 or 30 minutes later, I opened the production app again and everything appeared normal. I think all these changes has made everything go crazy. But it looks like they got it fixed.
This was only happening on my iPad. My Android device never had this issue at all.
Well , hopefully @jls4wheeler and everyone else that has the problem will get it resolved quickly.
That’s a messed up deal when all your stuff is just gone ![]()
Yes, it was very frustrating. I hope it is fixed for everyone now.
Its a good thing it isn’t a ton of people with the issue or we might have protesters out on the street over it ![]()
Many people are unaware that there has been a firmware update and an application update. Usually I get a popup when opening the app to warn me but I got nothing this time.
We may be « pre-released » testers, after the beta, who knows. When all is well, they will send the messages to everyone as usual for updating. A double checking method.![]()
Hello, @jls4wheeler , can you refresh or log out and back in again to see if you get your devices back? The dev has fixed it on the app end but I want to check in with you just to make sure, thank you!
Ive waited all day for my primary device to be updated after the firmware took a Pan cam crazy for a bit. I did in the meantime read a lot in the forums here and updated the other 4 devices without primary ( All IOS devices)
Nothing went wrong at all, everything checks out and connects faster.
Primary device ( this one ) is fine as well and no issues.
If I didn’t have that 1 Pan cam go rogue, it would have been one if the best updates I’ve experienced.
Now please make the event Icon images larger. I’m old and squinting to see things is not very caring of you.
Hi @sodcam , really sorry for the trouble, If it still doesn’t work now, we were wondering if you could submit a log for us? Thank you and sincerely apologize for this trouble.
