Wyze app suddenly has huge cpu usage

Normally Wyze has a pretty low cpu usage, but last night it went sky high causing an alert on my Samsung android. Any thoughts on why and what i can do to correct this? Thanks.

Did you update any Wyze stuff? That (and similar) has happened for me probably at least 6 times since 2018. Twice it rocketed my data usage sky high.

Yes, now that you mention it, I did. Some cameras were updated the night before.
I think I may have overreacted because the high usage message was so disconcerting and I’ve never seen it before. Coincidentally, we experienced a brief power outage that rebooted everything in the house. Lo and Behold, it’s back to the normal low usage. And all cameras and sensors work appropriately.
Note to self, don’t overact and try reboot first! LOL Thanks for replying!

I leave Auto Update Firmware Off on all my v3 cameras. I only have 5 v3 cameras, so updating manually one at a time is not a big deal for me. If you have a lot more Wyze devices I can see why it is more convenient to leave Auto Update on.

I want to make sure each update goes well individually and only after I read positive comments about new firmware on this forum.

Point well taken, I’ll check my settings. I believe that Auto Update is off because I always get asked if I want to update when one is available, but I will double check that. I have 25 devices and like you, appreciate verifying that each update is successful. Thanks for the suggestion! :slight_smile:
