Wyze app not working Login error Problem connecting to the server

My 5 cameras started going offline, I followed all the step giving and I bring them back online and after day or two, all 5 were again offline, I deleted all 5 cameras, deleted the WYZE app and then install it again and started from scratch… NOW I can not install cams ver2 back,
NOTE: changed my router to work only with 2.4 GHz and still does not connect.
Message “Connection failed” Try re-typing your password. if that doesn’t work try rebooting your router and modem… all this done many times

I had the same issue with my camera, I cannot log in to the app, I was able to log in using a PC in a browser, but in the app is not possible

I received the exact same response when I tried to log in to see why I wasn’t getting notifications from my cam, as I was just the day before.

Then I made the mistake of contacting Wyze support, and all they have done is respond with stupid suggestions and waste my time.

After telling them I wasn’t getting notifications and can’t login to the app, these are some of the responses …

1- Check firmware upgrade, clear app cache, check event settings. etc. etc …

all which require LOGGING IN!!

2- The next tech (or cheap AI impersonation of one) sent this …

In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > tap Submit a Log > Send logs

Once again ignoring the fact that I could not log in!

3- This was another ridiculous suggestion from the crack Wyze tech team!!!

For iOS Users (Safari)

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll and tap Safari.
  3. Under Privacy & Security, make sure Block All Cookies is toggled off.
  4. Exit your Settings and restart Safari for your changes to take effect.

So Wyze believes I should accept cookies from any site I visit, just so their app will (might) work!!

This pathetic back and forth has been going on for a while and the latest was another email telling that I have to allow cookies and sending along an explanation of cookies and why I have to unblock them.

  • User Authentication: Cookies are often used to store session information. Blocking cookies can log you out of your account frequently, requiring you to log in every time you use the app.
  • Settings and Preferences: Cookies save your settings and preferences within the app. Blocking them means the app won’t remember your customizations, and you’ll have to reconfigure your settings every time you use the app.

I rarely use Safari, but it has been set to “Block all cookies” since I got the phone and I did not change it recently, as when the Wyze app stopped working. The day before it stopped working Safari was set the same way, and I was getting notifications and could login to the Wyse app.

Which brings me to the one piece of information passed along by ONE of the Wyse techs that might explain the issues …

“This error you share may occur if you have recently updated your Wyze App to firmware version 2.45.”

So I don’t know what firmware version I have because I CAN’T LOG IN"!!!

But if the app auto updated, maybe that’s the problem.

What’s NOT the problem, is anything performed on my end. Every day I use the Cam when I leave home and every time I get notifications as I leave and enter, also if any lights shine in (which I’m okay with). BUT, nothing was altered at my end which leads me to believe Wyze made some adjustments at their end and instead of correcting them to the benefit of the customer, they expect customers to sacrifice their security setting and accept all cookies.

My simple response - BS!!!

I have used Wyze cams for many years and have put them in the homes of family and friends over the years. But as of today I am looking for an alternative because I have no more patience for the nonsense and poor service.

WYZE - WAKE UP AND DO THE RIGHT THING - FIX THE PROBLEM FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CUSTOMER!!!

As far as not criticizing people … hire smarter people and I won’t criticize them!!!

GOODBYE WYZE, you are pathetic!

For weeks I continued to go back and forth with the Wyze so-called tech support staff, but the SAME nonsense was being regurgitated on a daily basis - Set the Safari browser to accept all cookies.

As I previously stated my browser has been set to BLOCK all cookies forever, and I had no problem with Wyze until June, when I believe they updated things on their end, requirng this change to browser settings to get Wyze to work correctly. This is NOT how a good company would resolve their sad attempt at changes in their software.

I have a complete (and sad) thread of emails from Wyze and will be sending it tech media companies in the hopes they can shed some light on what a useless company Wyze turned out to be.

Of course it’s not the first time Wyze treated their customers the wrong way!
