WYZE app disappeared in Play Store for Android tablets

I unerstand being cautious but remember, you are using a version of Android that hasn’t had security updates in a long time.

As @Seapup mentioned, we are getting a bit off topic. :slightly_smiling_face:

sorry…off topic.
We use landline too.

You are not alone. I have the same exact issue. Last week I tried to update Wyze App on my tablet as well. I went to the APP settings on my tablet and tried to update the latest version when a message popped up saying “This App is no longer available for your device”. Next I went to the “Google Play Store” and typed in Wyze, Wyze Labs and anything else I could think of and found NO such APP. It’s simply not showing anything related to Wyze. My Tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (2 years old). Fortunately I also have a Samsung Cell S10e and have zero issues. I’m certainly not going to busy another Tablet when mine is only 2 years old. What gives? A bug of some sort?

Same here on one of my Android OS 8.1.0 tablet …
Maybe google play hasn’t uploaded/rolled out the new app yet ?

this thread seems to be explanatory and it should be fixed once the Seattle personnel are back at work. I am being prompted to update firmware (a different tablet) I think I won’t update anything until this gets sorted out.

It’s been determined that Wyze has required devices to have phone capabilities. Most tablets don’t.
I think it’s safe to assume this is a mistake that Wyze will fix soon.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but you can try to sideload the apk from APKMirror. I’ve used the site for years without issue.

I just looked. Wyze app is in the Play Store…

For you perhaps, but not for a lot of others, including myself. I got a response from Wyze Tech this afternoon, that said they are aware of this issue and and working on a fix.

use a tablet. to search in google play store app.
what kind of tablet do you use? no phone, no sim card slot type.

try that and let us know.

I won’t dough what you’re saying. But there’s only one play store. Wonder how it can show for some and not for others…?

Because the Play Store ONLY shows you the apps that can be installed on your particular device. This could be due to many things:

  • your device does not have the required hardware,
  • the app is geo-fenced and will not work in your country,
  • your OS is too old to run the app,
  • etc.

I guess the developers don’t do any sort of regression testing. They clearly haven’t learned from the last time

…and the time before

…and the time before

…and the time before

Do I need to have the attitude of “you get what you pay for?” when I first purchased the cams (over a year ago) I said “why are these so cheap?”

I do like Wyze but I’ve always had the feeling that they are learning as they go.
They’ll have it all ironed out for Wyze 2.0.:slightly_smiling_face:

Play store does not allow Wyze App download due to incompatible device. Why? Stock Android 9.0

There are 1-2 active threads about this.

The Wyze app expects a device to have “phone capabilities” and a tablet usually does not. There’s a rumor Wyze is working on a fix.

Welcome to the community, @karlkopp. Wyze is currently working on this problem, please monitor this thread for updates.

I have Samsung Tab 3 And Tab A 10.1 running Android 9 and 8.1 respectively. The last Wyze app update I received was v2.8.24. There have been 3 updates since v2.8.24 but I can not get them. Interestingly the Wyze app no longer shows up in my Google Play library of installed apps and Google Play store no longer lists the Wyze app when searching.

I have received all 3 updates to my Motorola phones. Any idea why the tablet version of Wyze app is no longer available?
