Word of the Day

Something that the Veterans Administration screwed me out of for many years but I got even. Cost them all the back pay with interest and tripled my military retirement payments. :joy:

Great! Did your Congressional office* help, or did you claw it back alone with sheer grit and determination?

* not being a smart-ass, they’re sposed to help with stuff like this…

Clawed it back alone with some assistance of a very smart young woman in the medical profession who knew exactly how to get around their roadblocks. Did not cost me one cent. When I retired 27 years ago the VA used their own people to decide if you deserved any tax free disability payments. Since they screwed over so many people that ability was taken away from them and given to medical professionals via Federal contract to do the evaluations. I found a great one 5 minutes from home.
Payments after any taxes and deductions went from $4,510.00 a month to the current $11,884.53 plus 3 years of back payments.

Since they passed the PACT Act last year new and previous retired military folks will not have to deal with all the things I did,

Gotta love happy endings.

It gets happier. I now do not have to pay County Property Tax on my home, no highway/bridge toll fees and no Vehicle registration fees on my truck. Many other free goodies for the taking. :upside_down_face:

stymy

You should change to Stymie as in Matthew Beard Jr. 1925-1981 who played STYMIE in the Our Gang short films. I loved those films as well as the Little Rascals.

Stymie! Forgot his name! Spanky, Darla, Froggy, Alfalfa (probably mixing gangs and rascals!) are those I recall.

You and your foursome ever use ā€˜stimie’ in the :golf: sense? I think I sort of knew that but forgot it.

  • Chubby, Froggy, Wheezer and Buckwheat. I read that some editing was done to the films shown on TV after 1971 due to perceived racism and some ā€œoutdatedā€ racial humor and in bad taste.  Some other shows were never shown on TV after the 1970’s.
    Advantage of being older

Good looking crew. The boys look like twins. :two_men_holding_hands:

Uncle Rico eating out:

No twins, Anthony was born in 1922 and my father in 1925. They had another sister but she died a few days after birth.
