Wired vs not wired

I purchased “wired” vs battery indoor/ outdoor cameras to replace old cameras outside- however- they are not “wired” they have a cord to plug into an outlet which isn’t an option. What do I do? What did I do wrong? It’s too late to exchange them bc I purchased them on Amazon while we were moving into a new home.

With Wyze, Wired has to do with Power vs battery. What are you looking for?

If you purchased Wired, thinking it was Ethernet, you can then utilize a PoE device to power the camera.

Just looking for some clarity here.

thanks

I expected to hard wire into the exterior of my home where the old camera was hard wired- not run cords all around my house to a plug in. “Wired” has never meant electrical cord to me. I didn’t expect to have to pay $200-300 to an electrician to create an outlet for an $80 “wired” camera that I now can’t use where intended if I don’t do that.

What does wired mean then? If you want something with bare AC wires get one of the floodlight cams.

There are pictures of the adapter and cord along with specs stating what is included and what kind of connectors it has on the page for each cam. The only ones that can be “hard wired” as you say are the flood lights.

There are other options like using longer USB cables (up to around 15 to 20 feet) or using POE or other DC power options.

However if you have a box there already, why not just wire an AC outlet and weatherproof cover into it?

Ok, so if you have Ethernet run to those locations then use PoE and use the adapter to power the cameras. I do that with all.9f my cameras around the house
