My V3 and V4 cams are fine it’s my battery cam pros that are not logging all motion events… they’re only logging people… as in ME. These are useless now
I don’t have a BCP so I’m of no help there. I’m still using the WCO version 1 battery cams and they work fine.
I have Cam Unlimited service. These are screenshots of my current detection settings but I have been fiddling with them. Previously motion was in the middle and sound was very low. While trying to fix the problem I’ve set them both high and reset the settings to default.
Just to be clear, the camera records motion but isn’t tagging it nor sending notifications for pets? Do you get person notifications? I also see you have a detection zone enabled…try disabling it.
One question I have is why is Other Motion Checked but Greyed Out in Jan9cat’s screenshot?
I thought I saw what I perceived to be a reduced amount of “Pet” Activity for a few days. This morning I saw my pack of three coyote’s trigger one of my Floodlight Pro’s, and one of those coyotes triggered three BCPros, One WCOv1 and a V4.
Interestingly, I unboxed a Blink Mini Cam that has been sitting on the shelf for a few years, to see if it would catch any activity in the same area, and it did not pickup the coyote’s in my back yard.
So I’ve been following this post and trying to find the solution myself as I was running into it but upon checking it today I’m seeing animals now. Can anyone else verify this? I noticed it a few days ago and came here to see if it was widespread and at that time I didn’t see much. But it has since grown and I’ve been trying to troubleshoot mine.
This is on a V4 but very vague settings with record everything turned on and I have unlimited.
You can see this is only from about an hour ago Eastern
I have all v3 cameras on Cam Plus Lite, so I can not speak on Pet tagging as anything other than Person is listed as Motion. My v3 cameras are still recording Cloud video of animals like they have for the past 3 years (Detection Sensitivity set at 90).
My cameras are not recording the motion of any animals… just people
Have you tried turning Off Detection Zone at least temporarily as a test?
I don’t have CamPlus (only Lite) and I don’t have any battery cameras. I still get animals/pets recorded (but not tagged). I regularly see cats, bats and deer recorded. (Oh yeah, people, too.)
Something has 100% changed since the latest firmware. I have a camera that overlooks an alleyway. I’d say on average I get 10 events in a night detected. In the last few a since the firmware update was applied I get zero overnight. Picks things up in daylight but not at night. There is no way it’s a change in traffic in the area the camera looks at. I’ve even been back and looked at the recordings and can see movements.
That’s my problem, I could see the cats, raccoon, possum and ground hog, then there was an update, now the camera doesn’t register any of them as movement…
I have a V3 in my backyard with CamPlus Lite and I get creature videos.
Mine is definitely an issue at night. Daytimes seems fine.
I originally set up this ‘rig’ to place just outside my sliding glass door to record my coyote pack that wonders through my back yard on the regular, hoping to prove, or disprove that the WCOv2 was actually recording without any cooldown. (I think that is working properly now, but still need to test to satisfy that is indeed the case) Placing the BCPro next to the WCOv2 would hopefully show the two cameras were or were not recording the same thing.
Anyways… back to the subject at hand. I moved the rig down to the bottom of my hill, and placed it on the cement block fence facing the field, the goal being to record anything that occurs at night in that field. (I’d recently watched a documentary that said there were Mountain Lions nearby my location)
So, down the hill I went to place the camera’s…
The WCOv2 on the left, and the BCPro on the right facing the field.
Days went by and I got nothing but grass blowing in the wind.
Then one day I saw a coyote on the WCOv2 (and not on the BCPro). I didn’t think anything unusual at that point. (I’d not seen this thread yet)
I was reviewing events for last night, and much to my surprise, I see a Deer on the WCOv2 (the camera on the left):
I was expecting to see this Deer which clearly was moving from ‘right to left’ to be picked up by the BCPro. I checked the list of events, nothing for the BCPro. I checked the BCPro’s Detection zone settings, It was off. I noticed when the WCOv2 was recording, it appears that the Spotlight for the BCPro turned on.
So, I went to the BCPro’s SD Card, and scrolled back to around 3:28am when the WCOv2 first saw the Deer, and saw this green box indicating something recorded to the the MicroSD Card on the BCPro:
I ‘recorded’ the clip, and saved it to my phone, the BCPro obviously detected the deer by recording it to the MicroSD, and turning on the Spotlight, but the Camera never sent the recording to the Cloud or presented it in the Events Tab.
IF THE WCOv2 HAD NOT BEEN THERE TO RECORD THIS EVENT, I’D OF NEVER OF KNOWN TO CHECK THE MICROSD CARD OF THE BCPro FOR THE FOOTAGE.
Who’d of thought the WCOv2 would send it to the cloud, and the BCPro did not.
Here’s a view from my Floodlight Light Pro in the backyard that caught the whole scene from the ‘top of the hill’:
Hopefully this info will help Wyze resolves this issue where, at least in this case, the BCPro is not recording events properly (at night?)
