I have at least 85 PET detection videos events record between 7:00 PM yesterday and 6:00 AM this morning. Your camera is obsessed with the vehicles in the field of view. Do you need to see the vehicles?
If not block them out with a detection zone. Do you have Pet selected in your event filters?
I have another "test platform’ setup in my back yard, above it is a Floodlight Pro to ‘watch’ what’s going on down below:
I recently had a Coyote willingly participate in a test of a WCOv1, V4 & Battery Cam Pro as pictured.
He jumped up from the hill, and paraded in front of all three cameras as shown in the Flood Light Pro footage: (I’ve trimmed the video to show his path in front of the three cameras):
Two of the three camera’s recorded the Coyote, and one did not.
Surprisingly, it was the V4 that did not record the event, while the two Battery/Solar powered Camera’s did record the event:
Battery Cam Pro - Cloud recording:
WCO v1 - Cloud Recording:
V4: MicroSD recording (No Cloud Recording available)
Based on my previous example where a BCPro failed to upload a video, and in this case where the V4 failed to upload a video, when the BCPro and WCOv2 did record the event, would it be safe to say there is a random issue going on that is causing some Camera’s not to detect and upload an event?
My issues, as others have seen, appear to occur at night.
I’ll keep monitoring this issue, and post examples as I see them occur.
EventID’s for involved Camera’s:
- Flood Light Pro: 191622
- Battery Cam Pro: 191623
- WCOv1: 191625
- V4: 191628
Come on Wyze. Fix the Pet detection!!
Here is another example. This cat was running around frantically trying to catch bugs.
In the good old days, any cat in my front yard would have created a Pet event.
Not pet detection but…
Did Wyze Tag the video as Vehicle?
Nah… No CamPlus.
Cam Plus Lite with SD cards set to Continuous Recording works perfectly for my needs.
@WyzeJasonJ @Loki Can we combine this thread into the ‘older thread’:
They appear to be the same issue:
Wildlife not being detected properly on various Wyze Cameras
I have a repeatable scenario with the same two camera’s where the WCOv2 handles a deer walking by and uploads it to the cloud, and creates a notification in my events, while a Battery Cam Pro right next to that WCOv2 does not.
The Battery Cam Pro does record it to it’s MicroSD Card though, which proves the Battery Cam Pro saw the Deer, but did not upload the event to the cloud, nor was an event created for it)
I’ve another example with three other cameras, to include a Battery Cam Pro, a V4 and a WCO v1 that exhibit the same issue with a coyote passing by those three camera’s and the V4 missing the event while the Battery Cam Pro and WCOv1 see the event occur.
Does Wyze need me to continue to submit Logs for this issue? Or can someone from Wyze respond in the affirmative that they are aware of this issue, and have been able to recreate the issue, and they are working on the issue?
Thank you for your time, hopefully this gets resolved soon.
I have the same issue, for some reason the battery cam pro does not record events to the cloud. My V4 right next to it does. I do not like to have my battery cam pro on continuous recording, as that kills the battery, even with the solar setup. I also don’t want to have to have double camera coverage of identical area… I want to disperse them to the best effect…
Has Wyze acknowledged your concerns? Are they working on it?
For my WCOv2 / BCPro Rig that I have ‘watching’ the field behind my house, I have them next to each other with overlapping coverage.
I did this to prove or disprove proper function of both camera’s (initially to test the WCOv2’s cooldown period of ‘No cooldown’ was working properly).
Discovering the deer where frequenting the field behind my house was a bonus.
Discovering the BCPro was ignoring that deer (no upload to the cloud w\CamPlus, as well as no entry in events on the BCPro) was not an issue I was expecting to experience.
I believe that it’s always like that, at least that’s been my observation with the Wyze Cams I use.
I’ve another example this evening, where a coyote causes my WCOv1 to detect and send video to the cloud, as well as the Floodlight Pro, all while the v4 and BCPro fail to do the same.
The BCPro did record to it’s MicroSD card (just not to the cloud)
Same with the v4, it did not see the coyote either to send recording to the cloud, but did record it to it’s MicroSD card.
Side Note on the v4, I had to reset services, then restart the V4 to access the MicroSD card for same odd reason. (error: “Cannot access SD Card” when attempted to view footage, then “No microSD found” when attempting to access it via settings.)
@WyzeJasonJ I’ve sent a few logs in before, others are experiencing this issue as well. Is this being looked into? Does Wyze need more logs?
