Web Portal Event thumbnails have been grayed-out since 4/23/26

I’m OK with the general function of the Web Portal (after latest update) but on 4/23/26 my Event thumbnail panes became grayed-out and only display as visible previews when hovered with mouse. Full videos still play OK when preview panes are clicked. Live Overview has been working normally.

One clue is that a small “broken image” icon briefly flashes at the top left corner of each grayed-out panel when the Events page is loaded. Clearing the browser image cache didn’t fix this and it happens on several major browsers; Edge, Chrome & Opera.

Thanks for any potential fixes.

Thumbnails seem to work correctly on Firefox while they do not on Chrome. Same computer, same internet connection.

Can you quickly test that on any other browsers, like Edge? I’m not inclined to use Firefox again on my PC, even for that fix.

I also figure more people would be mentioning this if it was a common problem, but don’t know how many use the Web portal vs. the app.

Edge does the same thing as Chrome but I was expecting that since Edge is using the same underlying chromium technology as Google Chrome. I don’t have Opera installed anymore so I can’t test that one. I’ve not had this issue before but since they switched over to the new web portal there have been a bunch of issues that pop up and then get fixed… My suggestion is to report the bug and see if they can fix this one too.

I figured this was a public report but will look for the formal route.

same problem here. tried edge and chrome.

Is this what your browser windows look like, with a small icon briefly flashing at upper left of each Event pane when you first load the Events page? That icon seems like a broken image incompatible with something they changed,

I am also having the same problem with greyed out icons in the events view web portal, when using chrome or Edge browsers. The event view thumbnails works fine in Firefox.

Strangely, when I first tried event view in Edge, a few thumbnails displayed, but most were still blank icons. When I refreshed the Edge browser, everything then displayed blank thumbnails.

This problem also started happening for me around Mid-April, 2026. I do recall a new pop-up notification when visiting the Wyze portal around the same time, that mentioned new functionality on the portal that allowed you to drag your camera views around in different orders, but the new functionality (dragging cameras) did not work for me. This was about the time that event view stopped working, so perhaps the thumbnail problem is related to the Wyze portal update around that time.

I opened a ticket with Wyze support (Wyze Ticket 4926790), but they have not been able to help. They also mentioned that they are aware that other people are having this issue.

I pay for Wyze unlimited, so it’s very irritating waiting around for Wyze to fix and just send me unhelpful emails repeatedly asking if I am still having the same issue – Yes, I am.

Event Thumbnails are greyed out in Web Portal when using Chrome or Edge browsers (Firefox and phone app works fine)

I am having a problem with greyed out icons in the events view web portal, when using chrome or Edge browsers (on Windows 10). All icons are greyed out (with a white mountain icon in the middle of the grey thumbnail) in the web portal events view. If I hover my mouse over an event, it then displays the video and thumbnail for that event only.

The event view thumbnails works fine in Firefox. Everything also works properly in the Android app on my phone. I have 6 v4 cameras and 2 v3 cameras, all of which do not display event view thumbnails.

Strangely, when I first tried event view in Edge for the very first time, a few thumbnails displayed, but most were still blank icons. When I refreshed the Edge browser, everything then displayed blank thumbnails only.

Here is some previous dialog I had with Wyze support:

The answer is NO to all 3 questions below:

· There are no security or network restrictions on the device.

· WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) and view.wyze.com are not blocked.

· This includes any firewalls, VPNs, or other network restrictions on your phone, tablet, or desktop.

I am using Bitdefender AV and Nord VPN, but the thumbnails are still missing when I disable both of these.

Note that the Events thumbnails work fine when using Firefox, but not in Chrome.

I have tried clearing the cache in Chrome and deleted all cookies for the portal site as well (https://my.wyze.com/home).

All Live view cameras work fine in the overview web portal tab.
