I am running the live view on my Windows 10 system. I currently have 8 Wyze cams and it appears that I can not have all live-streaming simultaneously. Two or three max at a time. And yes, it does appear that the app times out after a short while.
I can’t tell you how happy I am to see Wyze developing this capability! I am converting my home security system from Google Nest to Wyze and having the capability to have ALL of my cams visible on my LG widescreen (38") HD monitor is where I want to be. The only thing I will have to leave Nest is the wired doorbell because Wyze doesn’t allow you to use the wall chime with its video doorbell (hint hint).
Of my 2 dozen cams I am getting 6-9 max at a time, and other users have mentioned other limits for them, so I am guessing the limitation is based on something other than a global limitation.
I have Fiber with bandwidth at 1gbps up and down with an ASUS Mesh router Zenwifi AX6600.
So I don’t know if the limit depends on the bandwidth, the router, or something else, but I always get at least 6 at a time and sometimes 9. My Bandwidth and mesh router should seemingly be able to support basically all my cams streaming at a time though…so I would certainly be interested in this being expanded to support more at a time. But I can definitely confirm that I consistently get 6-9 at a time, so you should be able to get all of your 8 at once if you have a router/bandwidth that can handle it.
I think you all released this prematurely. I can seldom login because the CAPTCHA does not pop up. Fact that sometimes it does says the three browsers \i used are correctly configured. Even added the URL to the pop up allow list and still, get in maybe 5% of the time.
Feeds don’t always work, sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. Recording don’t work either.
I put a support ticket but got basic answers as to clear cache, use incognito mode, use other browsers ect ect. Not really a true solution
|It is a good effort, but its not ready to roll out folks.
This is an Alpha version at best. Major bugs still need worked out to go to Beta where you have minor and some moderate bugs, and is also the time to implement new features. Most Betas are in a closed group where testers report directly to a group that is monitored by the software maker and take direction from the group. Also in Beta, features that they want as paid are provided free to the Beta tester until the features are implemented in a general release. I’ve been in Beta groups in the past. If Cam Plus is required, then that should be provided FREE to Beta testers.

I got attacked when I pointed out how a proper Beta for web view should have worked. We don’t know what is being worked on, you cannot report anything, and we get no updates. Even the App Beta does better, and we see updates on a regular basis. I’m not sure what happened here, but Wyze really let their customers down. I’ve been trying to contact them, since the forum is not monitored. All we need is someone within Wyze to step up and start providing some minimal information.
I agree, not a proper Beta or anything. There needs to be someone in charge that takes our fix and feature recommendations seriously, and report them directly to the development people working on Web View, and report back from the Web View development people on what is being done and if they can implement requested features. Ideally Web View should work exactly the same as the phone app.

What are the current fixes for the spining animation? I’ve waited 2+mins on Chrome for desktop (Win11) and mobile (Android Samsung Fold3) and neither ever show live video, just the spinning animation. Thanks
Whomever is working on this is not monitoring the forum - these are user-to-user forums, no matter how poor that is in terms of updates. All we know, is that “it’s being worked on”, and GA is 4Q22. It’s really a bad process trying to piggy-back on the existing forum processes. But they didn’t even do that.
I’m trying to reach out to Wyze management, but not sure anyone wants to hear bad news, or do anything about it.
I use NOX Android V7 on Win11 and it’s working fine other than I cannot get the view in landscape mode without it toggling back and forth through modes. Works fine in portrait mode.
I no longer care since it’s only part of camplus which I don’t need - lite, if it worked well, would be enough for our location, but that rollout was so messed up it has corrupted my account and Wyze says I have to delete it and start over. However, I’ve found the docker-Wyze-bridge has a new web ui that works well for viewing all cams on one page, although I only have 3 to view not sure how stable with more cams. The bridge variables also allow for rotation so I finally have my side mounted v2 cam displaying a portrait stream on both browser and in homekit. The best part of using this bridge is the active developer. I requested an any cam by name rotation option and it was implemented next day.
FWIW, I was on the last beta team that I know of that used a closed Facebook group. It was an easy way to both communicate with each other as well as the fairly active Wyze project mgr. I expect my fairly wide spread criticizing of Wyze has limited my acceptance into any other beta tests, so I’m not sure how well their new groups function. Sadly, it seems this group is ignored. But it was clear during the year+ of testing that Wyze only listens with one ear, ends up doing pretty much what they want when they want and then rushes the product to retail while it’s clearly deficient and the app functions are limited and bug ridden… and in many cases Wyze replaces it a year or so later with the “pro” version which should have been the only version in the first place. Wyze knows full well they have a certain cult of users who clamor to save a few $ by buying anything that’s an early release, or just any new Wyze stuff, like some strange badge of honor they gobble up anything Wyze puts out so they can be the first to post their “prize” on social media. Clearly Wyze has been leveraging this cash cow - just look at the doorbells, scales, outdoor cam, gen1 sensors - expect more!
Meanwhile, if all you need is viewing the streams, and if you got some tech chops and a capable pc, checkout the docker-Wyze-bridge. I got several old laptop PCs, so using my old desktop with win10 on a hd from old dead laptop, a 12 yr old i5 is handling it just fine.

Unfortunately, ChemEngr is on point
And I for one appreciate verbose post also unfortunate is the fact that Wyze will most likely dismiss it. Where are you going to go
I’ve considered eufy, a bit more expensive but HomeKit compatible and can fully operate without the cloud. My son in law got a logitech as a baby cam since it is homekit compatible so he can check in on their infant on all his apple stuff without going through hoops, but it’s bit pricy for my needs. The apple AI is by subscription but I hear it is very accurate at face detection - so far I still have issues with cam pro AI which never detects my face unless I linger in front of it at just right distance, and even when I had a tech coming and waiting out front for me to get the door, it never found his face. I saw a poster in another thread talking about amcreast cams using POE, under $50, and some with starlight sensors now and native rtsp so can push to HomeKit fairly easily these days. As for simply viewing on a pc, the Wyze bridge is decent and actively being developed so far as long as Wyze doesn’t try to defeat it.

I tried to get Docker working on Win11 but it ran into problems and kept crashing. I may try again later as it’s a sort of project
I just put it on an old win10 laptop that had a bunch of win updates - it did take a couple tries since there was something docker desktop didn’t like. It was a little tedious, but I did a win update check which did download a dot net update and one other I can’t recall. Then did a reinstall of docker, had to allow it to add the firewall rules, then had to allow it to run with elevated credentials. There were also some folder access blocks I had to allow. It’s running ok now. Don’t have win11 - none of my older machines can handle it and I’m not quite sure I want it on my primary machine since I don’t want to risk breaking some old software I still use a lot, particularly an older autocad I got free via a consulting job that required me to upgrade to be compatible with their contractor.
I recently purchased three of the bluRams pan and tilt… cameras and so far I’ve been very impressed with him… @Carverofchoice doesn’t like his or I should say he has some complaints about it but I think it’s more about the subscription fees than anything
I also use Blink, Eufyand eWelink cameras with not near the headaches that I’ve had with a huge number of Wyze cameras that I’ve purchased.
I think they are a great competitor to Wyze, and love that they offer 2K on some cameras, which Wyze doesn’t currently have. A lot of their stuff is more expensive, including their cloud options…including how they were originally free, and then changed to charge crazy prices on it after they’d gotten everyone dependent on it. Still, I am very supportive of competition in the market, but I do still prefer a lot of things about Wyze.
Carver, I appreciate that comment and I wasn’t intentionally putting you down on your opinion down in anyway I happen to have a Lotta respect for you.
There’s a lot of competitors to Wyze Alvin technological world summer better summer worse Summer on par I think that it’s unfortunate that people can’t always take a companies advertising verbatim because we all know nobody out there claims to be second-best
The thing that I wish and I seriously do wish this and that is that Wyze as a company would communicate better, would put together a support team that actually communicated with people reliably
Anybody that calls with a problem deserves some type of an answer whether it’s the answer they want or just the way things happen to fall into place .
I am well invested in Wyze probably not as deeply as you are.
For the most part I like the products that I have from them however there are some issues with reliability and configurations that I hope that in the future they address and with that my friend, no flies in the soup …
