For the love of Dog, why is the AI not able to discern between a moving vehicle and mine parked in the driveway? I have a V4 pointed at my driveway to alert me to arriving guests, but I’m constantly notified on my own stationary vehicle. This severely devalues notifications for me. PLEASE make it stop!
As of now the AI analysis is done on a still frame that is uploaded. Whichever object is most prominent in that image seems to be what gets tagged.
Uploading video clips would consume more bandwidth and delay the detection.
However it should be fairly simple for them to also upload a coordinate of the motion so that it only identifies an object in that area of the still clip. Whether they’re working on that, who knows (it has been discussed here many times and it even seems some people reported that their cams were working better with it).
The workaround that most use is to just exclude the area that cars normally park from the detection zone. It would still catch someone walking up to the car etc so it doesn’t really reduce the functionality, and prevents it from identifying the parked car. Which means that obviously the uploaded image must have that area blocked out, so again, you’d think it would be easy for them to upload the “green box” area where the motion actually happened.
Is it feasible to have only Person Notifications on for your driveway camera?
I don’t care if a car turns around in my driveway, but I will get a Notification if a Person get out of the car.
Ditto on the above.
The parked vehicle being detected is not an issue with Other brand cameras ![]()
