I’d like to share that it is possible to use 2x Wyze Outdoor Cams with one solar panel. I can confirm that it has been working for the past 2-3 weeks and is going strong. I know some users have asked and never got a confirmed answer.
What you will need:
- Wyze Outdoor Cams (V1/V2 will work the same)
- Wyze or Wasserstein (on Amazon) solar panel
- ELECTOP Micro USB Female to 2 Micro USB Male Splitter Cable (Amazon)
- Black Thick Electrical Tape
- PEF Mount for All-new Wyze Cam Outdoor (Amazon)
- Medium Drill Bit and Drill
The solar panel must be placed under the sun for an entire week before using it. The solar panel has a small battery in it that must be fully charged to activate the full voltage needed to charge both cameras simultaneously.
Using the Micro USB splitter will fully seal the port and make it weather-proof. So, I recommend using the PEF mount and drilling a hole where you can directly connect the Micro USB to the camera port.
Now, after drilling a hole, there will be a gap. Use the silicone sealant to cover it up.
The electrical tape will be used to seal the connection between the Micro USB splitter and the solar panel.
Let me know if you have any questions, and I can help answer them in the comments.
