Userid- case sensitive?

Hello- I’m helping some one remotely that got a new router. The person who setup the router put the 1st letter of the userID as a captial vs low “L” it should be a lower case “l”. Can someone tell me if the userid verification is case sensitive on the wyze cameras? After they set it up it will not connect and my helper left so we could not reset the router ID to the with the lower case at this time.

Thx

Can you clarify, do you mean the network name of the wireless? If so yes it is case sensitive. If you mean the user name to log into the router, the wyze cams shouldn’t care about that.

If it is the network name, you’ll need to log into the router (the user ID and password is probably printed on it) and change it there, or go through the setup process on the cam again.

Thank Dave27- Yes the Spectrum network name starts with a capital “L” and the wyze device name has the lower case “l”. I’ll give that a try when my help gets back.

Thank you

A lot of ISPs let you change that easily either by logging into your account on their website or by using their app - if you don’t want to wait for the help to get back that is.

Thank you, I checked and found the spectum manage network prompts. I changed network name to match original net ID. I found a menu on the spectrum site, that showed me it had a connection with my WYZE cam. I then went o WYZE app on my phone, pushed the power on button, but it still did not conntect. Next in the wyze app settings I tried the restart camera - waited a minute and reset services & waited a minute, but still no connection. Maybe I’ll have my helper, unplug the power, wait and then reconnect. Not sure what else to do.

Thx

Yeah you may have to reboot the cam by pulling the power (doing it in the app won’t work if the cam isn’t communicating with the app). If the spectrum site shows the cam is currently connected, it sounds like you’ve made progress.
