I know I’ve been kinda MIA the last couple of weeks. Have some projects underway at the Kingdom, so I will be hit or miss for awhile.
However I wanted to relax tonight and catch up, and also drop this fun video my hummingbird cam caught while having a tree felled. (Side note: it is rotting from the inside, and wasn’t saveable and would pose a risk in the next year if not so already, so it was time. It is being replaced.)
You can’t see it in the video, and I didn’t get a Pic of it, but when he made the notch cut, water POURED out of the trunk. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s a white oak tree.
And I’ll never get rid of the squirrels. My street is nothing but White Oak trees.
We also had a minor incident when he topped the tree trunk (to make it short enough that it wouldn’t fall onto the road when he felled it), it took a funny bounce. And hit the front porch support post. Good news (I guess) is my post was never cemented into the porch, just set on the concrete. So dad just scooted it back in place. No damage. But if it had hopped a different direction it would have gone through my living room window.
