Tree Branch Falls Into Fresh Snow Overnight, Turn on your volume to hear the crack. Wyze Cam OG in the back yard bird feeder,
Nice catch. Great that it did not fall on anything.
Cool. I wish I had a camera pointing to the window yesterday. A large bird flew into picture window, It mush have been 18" tall. I think it wanted to grab the cat inside the house.
Did your window survive? My neighbour had a small partridge (roughed grouse) fly through a double pane picture window and landed in their living room.
Thanks for the tip on the volume! I’m impressed that this was done with a Cam OG, and I wonder what the audio would’ve been like with a Cam v4 instead.
Thanks for sharing!
Not as lucky here, big one got my roof Mar 1, 2023
Caught on WyzeCam
Window survived…and bird did… I was surprised. It hit the window like a softball and made a big splat. I went outside and it was gone.
Nice cameras… What kind are they?

You are both lucky , windows are expensive.
This is slushy snow sliding off my neighbor’s solar panel Feb 2024 (no sound because my cameras are inside).
The solar will work better after the snow comes off
To bad you couldn’t reverse power short term to melt them off.
Easier solution - live where it never snows…
Happened to my Grandparents in Vermont long ago too. Picture windows near wildlife don’t seem to mix well, I know people who have put reflective tape around the edges.
Odd tangent, homeowners insurance in the US has coverages for “standard incidents” and “extended incidents”. When pushing them to explain the difference to me, the guy said a family member of his had a large bird crash through a window and land on the couch, leaving blood all over the couch.
House had extended incidents so was covered. Personal property had standard incidents so they were on the hook for the couch.
That happened near me and it took out their neighbor’s windshield. Most insurance requires you to put up snow fences when you get solar panels installed. If it smashed a windshield, it would have done some damage to a person for sure.
They do actually have heated panels, but a lot of them are installed in a way that it is supposed to slide off when it gets heavy enough.
I had a seal go out on one of the windows… Actually it was that one. The company warranteed it. (Not sure if they would for breakage.) But they wanted $400 for labor to come out and replace it. I asked if I could replace it myself and they said sure.
