So how does the app notify (about an event like motion detection) other than me manually looking at the events via the app on my Android phone? My idea of a worthwhile notification would be a text or an email, Is there a way to make this happen?

So is the real answer that these Wyze Cams do not or cannot alert via email or text, and I need this third party app you reference?

Yep, IFTTT is an app and website. Wyze does not do texts or emails for notifications.

Thanks, I see they do these push alerts to the phone that work intermittently. Will give yours a try.
