Something unusual here

Not sure what this is. I’ve seen plenty of bugs and blowing leaves. While this could be a reflection of other ambient lighting, this is a wooded area outside my home. Other than the IR illuminator, there probably wasn’t a strong light source (and my landscape lights should be off by this time in the video).

It’s a little spooky compared to normal videos. I’m curious what anybody thinks.

You can see part of a spider in upper left at start of video. It crawled across one of the IR LEDs causing the dark shadow at start. The 2 small, bright “orbs” at end of video are microdroplets on one of the spider’s errant web threads or on the spider’s sail (ballooning).

:spider: :spider: :spider: (s) always making trouble. I had one the other night trying to wear out my V3 Pro. A piece of it’s web kept floating in front of the top right corner of the cam. Fixed it with a :broom:

I like @Seapup’s explanation and feel like I learned something today. When I first watched the video at regular speed, I thought what you were asking about was the lighting change after the 5-second mark, but then I got to the 19-second mark surprise and actually said aloud, “That’s cool!” Thank you for sharing, @Cusacsr!

Thanks for the shared excitement. Yes, lots to see in that video. I have to go back to check the spider, and it’s certainly more plausible than any ghost sighting… but my daughter and I happened to cut a few thick bushes earlier that day and dragged them through that area. Any spider web would have had to have been made in about the previous 8 hours from that video.

And for the glinting reflections to remain proportional to each other in size and spacing. Illuminating and un-illuminating at the same time… and on the 13th of October. Well paranormal thoughts are a fun departure from what is surely a logical explanation.

Spiders build super fast. I moved an orb weaver spider and took down his web at my folks house so as not to meet an untimely death at the hands of my dad (he was right next to the back patio door). He rebuilt his web in about an hour near where I relocated him, and about half hour later he already had a meal caught.
