I have the detection zone set to block the movement of our door decorations and even went way farther out to make sure it’s not in the detection zone. I am still getting an insane amount of alerts. I need this to stop. I also have Smart detection events enabled for person, pet and package. The alerts I am getting are for package now. There is no package unless it is seeing the mats on the porch and steps as packages. If I block those, I won’t have much space left to notify me of a person. I had to turn off vehicle detection because it’s alerting on the parked car also. This is so frustrating. Any ideas how to make this less aggravating.
Look at the Green Box / Tag. It extends down to where the steps are. That is what is causing the trigger. Myself and others noticed that the trigger is where the box is.
What box?
If the green box goes into the detection zone, it will trigger an event. So exclude those 3 squares on the bottom left and probably the rest of the stuff on the right too.
The same principle works the other way, you don’t have to “include” every possible spot there might be motion, just enough to catch some of the valid motion you want to see.
Thanks @dave27 , was busy on something else. ![]()
Sorry I meant you may want to block more on the right, not less, but see what happens.
Since I added the blocked area to the lower left I haven’t gotten anymore alerts. Thanks for your help!
