Post your dam AI art here and keep it out of the other threads, it's GROSS 🤮

Of course. There isn’t a person alive with a functioning frontal cortex that this doesn’t apply to. I’m just owning it in this context.

Haha, I have been accused multiple times of being a Wyze developed AI chat bot too.

I’ve never see chat bot posts as long as yours.

Oh yeah, they just increased the ā€œMaximum Token Limitā€ and the ā€œTermperatureā€ parameters to allow me to write longer responses than normal sometimes. Lenght of my responses also depend on the context and what my GPT instructions define as well.

It’s complicated.

You know those occupational aptitude tests they once gave junior high school kids? Like which trade or profession you might be best suited to?

Which trades or professions are they matching kids’ talents to these days, I wonder.

The list of possibles is shortening.

Not much future in that.

Half the [extroverted] kids say they want to be an influencer when they grow up anyway.

I keep telling my kids they should decide they want to be an entrepreneur or small business owner. I wish school had taught me a lot more about how to do that sort of thing. I had to learn on my own, and it can be a rough thing to figure out from scratch.

I don’t think AI will be replacing as many jobs as people think (though it will do some), but I do think people who use/leverage AI will end up replacing a lot of jobs of people who don’t use it. Just as with all technology, there will be reskilling and upskilling to work along side technology. History has seen this happen countless times:

Agriculture mechanization (Tractors, harvesters, etc) caused a transition of farmhands from ag work to other sectors like manufacturing and services.

Industrial revolution and manufacturing robotics had huge displacement.

Computerization automated a lot of clerical work, accounting, etc and opened new opportunities in IT and tech support.

Internet and Digitization shifted business operations with traditional media and retail while boosting e-commerce and digital marketing

We could go on and on with examples about Transportation, Telecommunication and countless things.

Displacement always moves to new or evolving sectors. History has long shown that the workforce is resilient and adaptable to progress. I don’t believe it will be much different here either.

I think there will be some cool new things come up.

School is sometimes less about specific skills than proving someone can actually follow through on commitments, show up, be reliable, learn to think, get a job done adequately.

Lots of employers will even require a bachelors degree or Masters Degree and then say they don’t even care what the degree is in. :joy:

Time will tell.

When I was very young, I wanted to be an elevator operator. Job gone
A parking lot I use replaced a cashier with a machine.
Grocery Stores have nearly eliminated cashiers.
Answering service is automated or AI Bot driven.
Long distance delivery trucks are being made without drivers.
Telephome operators have been drastically reduced.
The iceman doesn’t deliver ice anymore. I have a fridge.
Helpdesks are replacing people with software.
I was a technical systems person, but I think I could be replaced with AI.
Artists disappearing is my biggest worry, although I am not an artist.
I haven’t been to a bank in years since I use the ATM.
Servers at a restaurant could be easy to replace.
When I was in Elementary School I stopped by the local store and got a Nehi from the grocer. Today I use a vending machine.
I used to get maps at the gas station, but now I use GPS.

And yet despite the displacement of elevator operator or other jobs over time, you (and other people) were still able to find other jobs instead. The employment and unemployment rates have been relatively stable for the most part with minor fluctuations (relative to time). The market adjusts to changes and progress fairly reliably. That’s what I am saying. If those jobs went away and there was no new jobs, then we’d increasingly be having unemployment skyrocketing over time as jobs disappear, but that doesn’t happen because new jobs come from all the changes too and things have always still balanced out. That may mean that a lot more people will have something novel to us like ā€œsocial media Influencer/creatorā€ as their income source which FEELS like not a real job to some people, but they still make a living off it. There will be countless other things we haven’t even thought of yet, but there will always be something.

That’s one of the main things I am not worried about. Sure, some Graphic designers started using AI tools to do things, but I guarantee that if anything, Human Art will increase in the AI age.

Of course, when you take into account that so much human art is already pretty scammy…I’m not sure it would be a super bad thing to start getting rid of some of it. Someone just sold a BLANK White Canvas for Millions. Some rich people art seems to be nothing more than a money laundering and tax evasion scam. It’s just so subjective though that it gives the impression that anyone can realistically get away with almost anything when it comes to art.

I’m not worried about that, either, because I think humans still have desires to create, perform, and practice artistic endeavors (which I’m using in a relatively broad scope, because I’m also thinking about things like ā€œmedical artsā€, a part of health care where AI doesn’t really connect in a human-to-human way). I look at generative AI in things like graphic arts as another tool in the toolbox, and a friend who does graphic and Web design tells me that these kinds of tools make his work more efficient, but I don’t think they detract from his personal creativity or artistry.

I guess what I’d be more concerned about is humans making the decisions not to appreciate or recognize true human artistry, so my hope would be that the assistance we get from the machines making our lives better doesn’t result in complacence and laziness, because that’s maybe where we lose our sense of humanity. As long as humans are still connecting with other humans and doing and making beautiful things together and for each other (and I’m recognizing that beauty is subjective), then I think we’ll be okay.

What if Steve used AI to write his last post. Maybe he used it to write and rewrite trying to get it just right. To express exactly what (and in the style) he intended.

And maybe more.

Maybe in the process the tool also sparked new ideas in his being which he then fed back into the tool and on and on.

A collaboration.

What if that?

Sounds like one of image's creepy possums.

But I didn’t ask AI to eff it up, I effed it up all by myself, on the fly.

Will they take the memory down as well?

I like it! If it was a mistake, then it seems like one of those happy mistakes that results in something good and new and fun. That’s what humans do.

No. I wrote it myself with only the help of a spell checker.

I don’t use AI for productivity. I just use it for fun graphic creations.

I guess that is why we expire after 100 years or less. Let the youngsters decide their fate.

I am sure getting paid to play with computers was thought of a silly job long ago. Also, I am too old to change.

I am happy not being an influencer or have an Only Fans account. So I guess it’s all part of the cycle of life.

I can live with that, but I will still complain about it.

I guess I have no feelings or appreciation for art.

I like graphics for illustration, but never was a fan of art or showed any interest. I visited some major art museums but got no excitement during or afterwards.

I only have two paintings hanging in my house. They were hung there because my parents hung them.

I like photography because it reminds me of places I have visited or friends I have known.

I think I might appreciate music in the way most people feel about art.

We are all different, but we are happy with that.
