Post your dam AI art here and keep it out of the other threads, it's GROSS šŸ¤®

I guess itā€™s all semantics.

No itā€™s not. Trademark and copyright are two different things. Itā€™s too long of a topic to have it covered here

Well, this is an AI thread, so why not let an AI explain the differences?

Trademark

  • Purpose: Protects brand names, logos, slogans, and other identifiers that distinguish goods or services in the marketplace.
  • Usage: Helps prevent consumer confusion by ensuring that only the trademark owner can use the mark for their products or services.
  • Examples: Company logos (like the Nike swoosh), brand names (like Coca-Cola), and slogans (like ā€œJust Do Itā€).

Copyright

  • Purpose: Protects original works of authorship, such as literary, musical, and artistic works.
  • Usage: Grants the creator exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, perform, display, and create derivative works based on the original.
  • Examples: Books, music, paintings, software code, and films.

In essence, trademarks are about protecting brand identity, while copyrights are about protecting creative expression.

In some cases, a thing can be both a trademark and a copyright. This is common with Logos and Characters (Mickey Mouse is one common example that was both).

Good use of AI. :+1:

Guess I should move on from the drawing stage and see what else AI can do.

Yeah. Unpopular stance, but I love AI so much. I use it every day. both personally and professionally.

I donā€™t rely on it to do anything exclusively, but I do use it to help me create complex algorithms and give me a starting point for a lot of things, and then I implement my own modifications and improvements and customizations, but it makes me extremely productive and saves me a ton of wasted research time to figure out how to do something myself. It will get right to the point with the key points I need to know to implement something or to pick a service.

Just last night, I needed a solution for one of my virtual assistants. Some of our partner services keep blocking them from accessing anything. I helped him install a commercial VPN to stop getting blocked, but the services still blocked the commercial VPNs. So I needed to setup something to allow him to proxy through our physical office network to make all his traffic requests look like theyā€™re coming from our office, but Iā€™d never done this before and had no experience with it. So I explained the situation to a couple of AIā€™s (I often ask more than one for multiple reasons) to get a bunch of options for potential solutions and while there were a ton of options I could implement, and with a few clarifications and comparisons, I ultimately was able to quickly narrow down my preference to using a reverse proxy through cloudflare tunnel with a free account and set that up securely, etc and get right to doing it. It saved me what wouldā€™ve taken me several hours of research and comparison and searching and tons of reading things I didnā€™t need to know.

It makes me exponentially more productive and less stressed and saves me tons of time and more effective, and makes my home life so much better with all the automations I set up using complex algorithms I wouldnā€™t be able to figure out on my own.

Sometime soon I will be implementing my own local AI LLM running exclusively on my local network, privately. When used properly, this stuff is a HUGE game changer for improved quality of life in my experience. :man_shrugging: IT doesnā€™t do everything for me, but with the right prompts and usage, it gives me a good starting place.

Very good. Right now AI and I are just acquaintances. Friendship maybe is in the cards, but love is not desired at this point.

After submitting a survey to Micro$oft for copilot, I realized I am only scraping the AI surface. When asked in which areas have I used AI, I could only check one out of 21 areas. My selection was image creation and even then I am a advanced novice. After reading your post, this lack of experience with AI is very obvious.

I think I initially went for the eye candy and now I need to dig for the ā€œbrainā€ candy.

I donā€™t need this for work since I am happily retired, but now I have time to learn and do whatever I want, whenver I want, or not at all. I consider this an advanced form of playing, but learning all the same.

Do you offer any courses in AI? I need to watch more YouTube Videos on AI. I have only played around with a minor part of what copilot has to offer. Wow. There as so many AI engines out there.

Guess I can start with some basics:

Overall, in my experience:

MS CoPilot is the best overall Free option IMO since it has few limits and still uses a power GPT. It is often more accurate than most of the other free options in most cases, and itā€™s been the best free image generator in my experience of trying most of the others.

I have Gemini Advanced, and I use it, but only casually because itā€™s not really all that great, but it is basically unlimited and itā€™s not horrible.

Perplexity is the best for facts/research or if you donā€™t want to get told it canā€™t answer something. I get really annoyed at Copilot and Gemini telling me they canā€™t answer something. Like I might ask something as neutral as ā€œWhat time is the Vice Presidential Debate tonightā€ and they will tell me that they canā€™t answer that because itā€™s political and they donā€™t want to get sued for influencing the election, etc. If anything can be remotely controversial in ANY way, many of the AIā€™s will refuse to answer anything at all and shut down the conversation. I hate that so much. Perplexity never does that to me, so I often go to it for any facts related to research (it is the scholarly research and sources king right now) or anything that the others are likely to refuse to discuss, including something neutral like what time something is. just crazy. Perplexity wins in many ways for these reasons.

ChatGPT is the king for free coding, but it has a lot of limits on the free tier (ie: you can only use it so much before you have to wait 3 hours to ask it for more), so I use it sparingly. But it is incredible. I use it for most of my coding and Excel needs (unless itā€™s something simple, then I might use one of the others).

I like Claude for lots of general stuff, including uploading long transcripts to and get a summary. This is what I do when I record Wyze Firesides. I will upload the recorded transcript to Claude and have it summarize key points for me to post in the forums for those who missed it.

Honestly, Iā€™m pretty shocked at how bad Gemini and Gemini Advanced is compared to Copilot and ChatGPTā€¦but I use it anyway out of convenienceā€¦but it really is pretty bad by comparison in my experience.

If money is no consideration, then OpenAIā€™s ChatGPT is king. If Free is important, then MS Copilot is pretty awesome overall. If actually answering your questions and being accurate matters, then Perplexity is the way to go for sure. If privacy matters, then do self-hosting, maybe with Metaā€™s opensource stuff, though there are a ton of great options for self-hosted AI depending on your resource limitations.

Thatā€™s about where I stand right now with using a ton of them regularly.

Great. I just installed it on my phone.

That is funny. It could not tell me about what is going on in Israel. It didnā€™t give a reason.

I will have to give it a try, next.

Thanks! I appreciate the information. I copied off your remarks to a Word doc for later reference.

Possible WYZE Picnic in 2030 ?

Qingdaoā€™s Golden Sand Beach is a coastal gem that enjoys a reputation as the ā€œNo. 1 Beach in Asiaā€ because of its powdery and golden sands. It is one of the top beaches in China, ideal for swimming, sunbathing and beach sports like volleyball. Foodies can also content themselves with tasty seafood here.

You  couldnā€™t handle that.

Hey, she seems harmless and innocent enough to cause no harm

Some claim Chat GPT if queried skillfully reveals significant truths (impolitic, objective.) Havenā€™t used it so canā€™t confirm.

I hope someday, AI can learn how to spell correctly. Drawing is pretty good but then it forgets how to spell correctly. It needs to focus on what is asked.

I heard in a news program that even Microsoft Paint is getting an update with AI-enabled features.

Neat. I think it might become invasive everywhere.

I dislike AI when it wonā€™t do what I ask.

Maybe because I spelled Ballistic wrong?

Maybe it thought you were talking about that King Missile song.
