I have a lonely peephole too.
Another option for apartments
So easy to implement now that they offer battery powered cams.
Since Wyze has announced the Bird Feeder with the macro lens adapter and there’s a separate Wishlist topic for lens adapters, I put in a plug for a peephole adapter over there.
It seems all of the components are readily available.
I would buy one with a battery so I could go cordless.
Sure would be a great way to keep cams out of sight.
I agree, especially if it still provided an immediate way to see what the camera sees without requiring an app (pulling the phone out to view the feed), like I suggested earlier.
12 posts were split to a new topic: Concealed/hidden exterior camera solution
because cam is hidden it is illegal in some states
While I was browsing through several 3D print model sites that are public, I noticed someone had designed and printed a Wyze camera mount that is hung on the corner of his apartment front door. It not easy to see, but it was in plain view. And according to his description, he’s not allowed to permanently mount anything to the door or wall. So, it slide over the corner and the cable reached through the door opening and was bound between the facing and door. Yes, I suppose someone could wack it or break it off its mount. but I guess that was a trade-off between nothing and something. Just sharing the idea.
I bought a 3D printed mount for the peephole. I use the original wired doorbell with a 16.4 ft transformer adapter. Have had this set up for a couple years.
Do you have any photos so Wyze can learn from your design?
The list of what I used is in the links below and pics are below that. I screwed the mount into the door because I was allowed. You could as easily use nano tape if you’re not allowed to screw anything into the door, or make a tube grommet through the hole that screws into a mount and braces to the back of the door. Just take out the peephole, save it for when you move, and run the cable through it. Plug in the camera. Quit simple. I put a vinyl decal over the light and a skin on it to match my door.

Very impressive. Thanks for taking the time to post.
My pleasure. Hopefully it can help someone else.
There’s also a Duo peep hole mount.
The good thing about this, the peep hole is still operational.
Very cool. I am still looking for the camera to be mounted on the other side of the door. These are still neat.
It’s a good pairing for the Duo’s lower camera. At the height of most peep holes, most cameras (and those on the inside of the door), won’t see the packages near the door bottom. The Duo sees that part.
That’s a cool find. Thanks for sharing!
That is cool. Otherwise you would need a fish-eye lens.
