Pan cam power down

Is it ok to power off a pan cam by using a power cord switch? We have one in use to keep track of our older mother and it’s more convenient using the switch when needed to keep privacy when needed. This camera does have a sd card in it.

I have a smart plug on a schedule to turn one of my cameras on and off, and it has an SD card, so I don’t think that will be a problem. HOWEVER, keep in mind YMMV when it comes to SD cards in the cameras. :slight_smile:

Thanks , I thought it shouldn’t hurt it . Where its at shutting down when needed is more convenient for us with a switch.

I have 3 PanCam’s on one Wi-Fi power outlet that power cycles each night on schedule, so far no issues with cam’s or SD cards.
