Loving my Wyze Cams!
I am seeing this to on my Pixel 4 phone. Android 11 fully patched by Google (unlocked phone)
I have a Samsung tablet the is Android 10 that does not have the connection issue.
So what happened (WyzeGwendolyn I hope you read this) is the when Wyze updated the Android app the last time they “Re-Introduced” a defect that they had fixe back in late October early Novemberish.
I submitted a log already but as is typical, of many companies now, (Amazon being one) it is hard to find someone that knows anything in support. Normally this mostly affects large companies that have offshored support (again naming Amazon as they used to be good) but in the case of Wyze I think they are just stretched too thin with the breath of products they now support.
So someone on reddit correctly indicated that the issue (well, my issue) is related to cameras in a group. Sure enough when I remove all of these cameras from their group they load much more reliably. Unfortunately I really need the live preview capability that grouping allows for, but at least that rules out any network issues on my end. Hopefully they’ll re-fix whatever it is that they broke this time.
I did not know about the group issue. I also need the groups.
Android 10 is fine. Android 11 is not.
I had the problem with grouping causing dropouts over a year ago. I guess they still haven’t addressed it after all this time. Mine was grouped on my Wife’s iPhone app, but caused cameras to drop on my wall mounted Android tablets every time she accessed the camera group on her phone.
