Wyze doesn’t care if they fully function, just buy it and we will get to fixing it maybe later in an update ![]()
So, the issue is at the camera end and not the Android end? There are regular recordings everyday based on motion activity that I can view from my laptop but not on my phone
And all 5 days have the correct folder/file names when you view in the PC? If not and there is a folder with a date that is totally off that’s the reason the cam can’t see it in the right place, and that happens when your internet or wifi is down for more than 30 mins or so.
If the dates are all fine, then I’d try clearing the cache in the wyze app settings and also in android app settings for the wyze app. Power down the cam, put the card in, power it back up, see if it cleans things up.
If all that fails, grab the ones you need on the PC and just format the card (preferably with that sdcard.org formatter but shouldn’t really matter). It is possible a power blip or similar has just caused the indexing of the card to be screwy and the cam just needs a fresh start. Or maybe just do that regardless since you have the card out anyway.
Not too impressed also with the WYZE service.
It’s always down. And they always blame me by saying “your internet is slow, there’s interference in your house, unplug and replug your router….etc.”
Hey Wyze, please stop treating us like kids.
All my other devices work fine thank you and I have high speed internet at 800Mbps. There’s no reason for such poor service.
Anyways, as for the SD card option same thing! complete [Mod Edit] sh@w.
It works sporadically and when it does it records certain events …even though the detection settings are high, it’s set on CONTINUOUS RECORDING and I have a high end SD card able to handle high bandwidth. It’s nothing new and it’s been going on since last summer.
And now that we’re in winter they’re blaming the cold and the recent storm. They’re running out of excuses! (I have the lightbulb outside but also two cameras inside. The storm excuse is [Mod Edit])
It seems like they are deliberately slow or unwilling to resolve this so that we all say [Mod Edit], I’ll pay for the subscription”.
Well not me. I’m switching to a competitor.

3 of my cam pan v3’s don’t recognize any SD cards or if they do, won’t last more than a few hours. However, I noticed that the app was updated in the last couple weeks. One campan that I had pulled offline and deleted and set aside, I set up again as new. Everything perfect without any SD. When I added a previously used 64gb sd I got a new pop up notification in the app confirming recognized that I hadn’t seen before. But so far its working normally. When I tried it on a second unit, I got the same pop up, but when I tried to view the card in Settings it said storage capacity unavailable and format failed, so that one still doesn’t recognize the SD. I need to try it again on a 3rd unit to see what happens.
Yeah the new pop up is a feature of the newest app version, and several camera models will do it now, basically just warning you to make sure the rubber cover is in place.
The cams that record for a while then stop, that sounds like a totally different issue and usually points to a failing SD card (or possibly a dirty or failing slot in the cam). While nobody has determined if the main issue in this thread is a hardware one or not, that seems to just totally not recognize cards at all, not work sporadically.
I got one of my 3 working again and its been 36 hours without issue. Will continue to monitor. Two others ran for about 12 hrs before the no video available thing. So I pulled the SD from one and put it in a computer and this is what it shows. I haven’t seen anyone else post something similar yet, but maybe I missed it. Clearly corrupted and the dates are wayyy off.
I even went so far as to partially disassemble the lens section in order remove the circuit board and liberally spray some electronics cleaner in the sd card slot. Put it back together and it immediately worked again…..for about 12 hours. Oh well.
Try formatting both cards (the one that has been working for 36 hours so far and the one that fails at 12) and swap between cams, see if the symptoms move with the card or stay with the cam.
Ok, formatted and swapped cards. The one working for 36 hrs, I’ll call it BLACK, continues to work with different card. The other one working for 12 hrs, I’ll call it WHITE, worked for a couple hours before failing. I restarted it and the cards recognized and viewable again for probably not for long…..Pretty safe to say Its not the cards, its the cams.
Yeah sounds like at least one of the cams is shot, though have you tried swapping power adapters and maybe even cables? That can be another cause of SD card issues.
Oh yeah I’ve got a ton of different cables and power options incl wyze originals that I’ve tried, none make any difference. My other 7 pan v3’s which work normally range from standard 6’ cables to 20’ extensions, never any problems with them. Yet.
Sounds like you’ve got a cam that is dying then.
If the cam is outside, could have gotten some moisture in it, the bag of rice trick might work.
Note that when the Panv3 cams are mounted upside down, they are susceptible to water infiltration, not sure if any of yours are or not.
ok i was having this problem with most of my cameras wouldnt record to sd card i have tried support no help i tried formatting sd card no go i replaced with a new 120 gig sandisk worked for 5 min then stopped. i have since replaced with a 64gig rebooted and so far all is working again. seems that they work with 64 gig the best. im going to monitor for a bit and will update if that changes but it is working now.
Not sure which model you have but I’m running 128GB in all my cams for years with no issues, and others have gone as high as 512GB. 64GB and 128GB use the same format (exFAT).
I suspect that sandisk card may have been a fake, where did you get it from? They’re the most faked brand out there and that’s the sort of symptom you’ll see, works until it hits the “real” capacity of the card (usually very small) then stops.
I just noticed that my Pan Cam v3 and Pan Cam v4 cameras stopped recording to their SD cards. They’ve been fine up to now. My non-pan cameras (v3 and v4) are fine.
I reformatted the card on the pan v3, and it started recording to the card again. I did the same for the pan v4, but it still wasn’t recording to the card. So I restarted the pan v4 camera and it is now recording to card.
So, I formatted both sd cards via the app sdcard.org and waited to have them back in the cameras for several days and to see that events recorded for several days. Both are working just fine. And, as you say even when the message ‘No video available at this time’ comes up, if I click on the screen as you suggested it does play the recording. I have 64gb SD cards, should I get bigger data cards?
Anyways, many thanks for your patient advice. Cheers

I’ve also been having issues with my pan v3 saying there’s no video available for the past couple of months. I can restart the camera and it works for a while but at some point it stops working again. I think it’s safe to say with everyone having the same problem that it’s NOT our sd cards ![]()
Wyze = Junk ![]()
Sorry didn’t see this previously.
That bug where it would say no video, then play, was one I noticed on my Panv3 cams but an app or firmware update resolved it. Are you running the latest of both? None of my cams seem to have that issue anymore.
Card size is up to you. Larger cards have two benefits - more video recording history, and longer lifespan (each memory cell gets written to less frequently so they last longer). This applies more to continuous recording than motion recording, since unless you have constant motion, it can record months of events on 64 gigs and only write the card one time during that entire time.
I’d say more important is using cards rated for constant writing (if you are using continuous, or even have lots of events), called Endurance rated cards. And a decent brand that is known to be able to withstand extreme temperature swings etc. I prefer the Samsung Pro Endurance, but like all flash memory, the prices on them are quite high right now.
