My language proficiency is in this order:

  • English
  • Haitian Creole
  • French
  • (various programming languages)
  • Spanish

Does it count that I scored pretty high on understanding the military’s made-up alien language they use for their DLAB tests? They told me I scored so high that they would never allow me to choose to learn Spanish or French :joy: They said if I was interested in Language they’d try to force me to study Chinese and Arabic because not enough people score high enough on the DLAB to reasonably learn those. Then my ASVAB was high enough (99 percentile) that they said I could pick to do anything I wanted, and if it wasn’t available, they’d get an override, but that I should expect that they will push hard for me to do something like nuclear jobs. I pointed out the contradiction that they just told me I wouldn’t be allowed to pick to learn Spanish, and now they’re telling me I can get an override for ANYTHING. :joy:

Haha, I didn’t end up enlisting, but I have had a good laugh at remembering the guys’ faces over the years when I played their semantics back at them.

You know you have master-level proficiency when you dream in foreign languages.

Is it possible to fit all that chatter plus enormous testicles into the same text box?

I’ve actually experienced that without anything near that level of proficiency, which is weird.

Interesting. . .
EDR = Erase Data Remotely, By Cooking An Unforgettable (Byte) Signature Dish

We present a vulnerability (CVE-2023-24860) in a brand-new category that provides unauthenticated remote deletion of critical files such as the entire production database and causes a new level of DOS. The vulnerability exists, in default settings, of three well-known endpoint security products we have tested and it’s fully undetectable. It can be exploited both on Linux and Windows using at least ten different attack vectors and without almost any limitation .

I actually love that when I dream in different languages. I have dreamed in all those verbal languages (not the programming ones), sometimes multiple in the same dream. :joy:

How cool would it be to dream in some programming language though?

What do you call a doctor without a buxom nurse assistant? A programmer.

I write code in my sleep and remember the code when I wake up. :joy:

So ‘transition to crazy future’ is like no transition at all for some crazy dreamers? Sleeping dream becomes waking dream? EZPZ. Ack ack?

Lies! I have it on good authority that you don’t sleep long enough to dream. Unless you’re saying here that you sleep-work. I can believe that. Your typical micro-naps are to short for dreams.

Are you sleeping now while you type out replies? :joy:

:joy: I’ve been known to do that. :joy:

Less than 5% of my sleep is deep. Most is lucid dreaming. Always been that way.
